Meet Bishop!

He is an older Great Pyrenees in need of a home. He is very gentle and docile, as the breed tends to be. He is overlooked at our rescue because he is older, big, hairy and drooly, a combination that seems to turn people off. He is a sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet boy, as evidenced by this pic of him with his paw on my leg (he put it there while I was brushing him). Whenever you spend a little time with him, he will look deep into your eyes and give you his paw.

Bishop's previous owners got divorced, and he was being used as a pawn between them. Through an unknown series of events he ended up at the animal shelter, who then released him to us. Bishop just wants a quiet, loving home to call his own for his remaining years. He is neutered, and good with other dogs. Cats are unknown, but he can be cat tested. Please go to foha.org for adoption information.

Note: Bishop is not listed on the website, I think its because they don't want his owners to know he's there, but I don't think they are going to go looking on websites for him, but oh well.

What a gorgeous boy! He looks SOO sweet!

Reminds me of Mia, a dog that came through the shelter I volunteer at.

My friend might be interested. She loves the giant breeds. She has a Dane and it is probably the most well cared for dog I have ever seen. She has a LOT of animal experience and does a little bit of rescue thru the metropark she works for. She takes the odd critters and creepy crawly things that are left behind when people move and stuff.

But anyways, she lives right here by me in Ohio so before I ask her, I should ask you if there could be some sort of transportation arranged. Or do you adopt in the state only?

Ok, I understand policy but if things are desperate for this sweet big dog, feel free to let me know. I could absolutely guarentee the dog would be in the best care possible.

Things aren't desperate for him, we are no-kill. I'm just trying to get more exposure for him. I'm going to send his pic to the great pyrenees rescue.

What a horrible thing to say. Especially to dog lovers. If you aren't a real animal lover maybe you should find somewhere else to be.

You chastise people about getting a purebred dog from a breeder on one thread then you have the nerve to write this on this thread? Either your have a warp sense on humor or you're just here to cause chaos.

Sweet, he's an adorable dog, I hope he finds a forever home soon.
