It's a well known fact that bodhi is part swamp creature, part human, part dog. But did you know she's also part dolphin??

She always takes swimming to the next level and will actually dive under water to retrieve pebbles etc. I finally got a great video of it but its on the other halves phone. When I get it I'll upload and share :D

Anyone else have a deep sea diving dog??

Sadly, Zeus and Voodoo have never been swimming. Large bodies of water are not exactly in abundance in the middle of the desert.

My old golden retriever, Tigger, was a diver. She loved going under to retrieve.

Jackson loves to swim but is not big on going under. It's happened a few times and h usually comes up and gags up a bit and then he's fine lol. But he avoids it.

A good family friend of ours has two Golden Retrievers who dive and go retrieve diving sticks all the time. They LOVE it!

I've never seen Riley dive under but the visibility in the lake (or ocean) isn't great so I guess he sees no reason to do so. That said, he has no problem sticking his head underwater in the short horse trough I have, to retrieve a sunken ball or toy. He'll also lay down in the trough and submerge his head (so everything is underwater, except for his tail) for a few moments. Looks like a breaching whale when he comes up for air, snorting water out of his nose. :D

My older dogs (Mick and Murph) are lake waders. It's kind of strange - they'll happily wallow in the neighbor's lake or the creek but refuse to set a paw in the wading pool or short horse troughs at home. The only time I've seen Murphy in the wading pool was in the dead of winter - he likes sitting on ice. Silly dog...

Suzie has only done it when its super clear, and then she paws and sticks her nose under to try and get leaves on the bottom. I thought it was ridiculously cute

Ruadh, my old APBT swims under a lot. My Boston, not so much, He hates it. My little ABD puppy looks like she may be a diver, she had her head in the baby pool blowing bubbles today. :)

Not as far as I know. Sam is a wimp and he only really swims when he doesn't realize how far he's gone while following another dog in. Yet he likes the water a lot. He hasn't tried to go under yet though I imagine that in clear water he would probably try. :p

Gipsy hates swimmig for some reason. She does, however, like sticking her head in water and blowing bubbles. :p

Leave this to Bohdi to do. :p

Bandit is a chicken when it coems to water. Only still water and never intentionally swims but will go belly deep.
