Does your dog like the vet?

Exactly what the title says.

Kona loves her vet. We only go for check-ups and rabies now, but she still loves them to death, and always goes with them willingly (tail high and wagging, I might add) when they take the lead from me to go weigh her and such.

She's never had a problem with her vet. Partly the reason why I only go to that particular vet. They are so great.

What about your dog?

I think Snip thinks the vet is his 'pusher' He has REALLY loved the vet since he was neutered! Happy drugs. He is ecstatic to see the vet. Strange dog :D

All the other quite like the vet, but not to the extent that Snip does.

My dogs have always liked any vet they've seen - except one, who I didn't like either and we only went there because it was an emergency. Ares is usually very eager to see the vet that does acupuncture.

If I ever went to a vet that my dogs didn't like, I wouldn't go back.

luce bit a vet in the face once.

i had her at work with me, back in the kennels. one of the vets went back to talk to her, and came back out rubbing at his face. i was like "what the heck happened" and he ruefully told me that he'd been holding cookies between his teeth and telling her to take them and she got a little overenthusiastic.

*head.desk*

but yes, my dogs like the vet. they get uncomfortable and uncharacteristically quiet up on the table, but you've still got to watch the tail end because it is very dangerous up at that height!

:rofl1: I read that like you meant your Husband :lol-sign:

Izzy likes the vet because she loves people. When we took her for puppy boosters and then rabies she got gold star approval from the staff and vet :) My parents dogs also like the vet and surprised all the techs by being so well mannered since apparently the Chessies from my area are usually unfriendly.

Ruby and Noodle are NOT fans. Ruby doesn't enjoy men she doesn't know and Noodle is spoiled by her daddy, so they don't behave.

I think we all know what Allie's reaction is......she's the dog that LOVES the Bordatella vaccine...that goes in the nose.

My vets have gone to the shots rather than the nose for the bordatella .... find it more affective .

hhhm RB doesn't mind, but Kiana... well lets say she likes her vet, but not going to the office LOL!. she gets nervus and sometimes agressive twards the tech, which is why I don't take her unless is an emergency or the doc realy needs to see her. I don't like to stress her out for no reason.

All of mine like to go. I socialize my dogs on a regular basis as soon as they are vaccinated. We are in and out of the vet's office several times a month to get weighed, visit staff, update my stuff on their BB, etc.

For my dogs the vets is a place they go to step on the scales and eat cookies.

There are two vets at the clinic that Saga and I go to. She loves them both. When I first brought her home she had a bit of a runny nose and worm issues. We went in for a follow up and Dr. Amanda told us that we had to start coming in weekly.........so she could snuggle the micro-Dobe.

Is it just me or are most other dogs completely wigging the heck out in the waiting room?

Almost without exception there is a dog in the waiting room trying to eat one of mine.

I can't figure out how my vets do it. They are VERY popular vets office.. but I almost never see other dogs in the waiting room. I have met up with people picking up pets. But usually I am the only client in there.

Most of mine typically get nervous at the vets.

Blue lived there for 10 years, so when we go to the vet, he's happy as heck to see my vet.

Bo loves my vet too, but that's because when I worked there, he went to work with me everyday. She he thinks my vet is a cool place to hang out.

The rest aren't deathly afraid, but don't love it either.

Nope. Rarely do I have a problem with other dogs. In fact, I rarely see other dogs in the waiting room.

Same with mine. The parking lot will be full, the waiting room will be empty.

NO.
Daisy shakes, drools, and pants like crazy. She also submissively pees. If she needs something done that isn't just shots/temperature/basic exam, she typically needs to be sedated (for example, nail trimming).

Benji doesn't like it, but he doesn't stress himself out. He just hides under the chair.
