Does this seem like a good cat breeder?

I was doing a regular Craiglist pet section check and came across an ad for two Purebred Persian kittens for $50 each. One was a beautiful 9 Month Old Smoke Tortoiseshell and the other a 6 Month Old Seal Lynx Point. Both females.
My mother has wanted a Persian for a VERY long time since hers died of old age combined with sickness years ago. He was a rescue cat.

So we got one of them, going to her house to pick her up. The lady seemed nice. She also breeds Sphynx and Exotic Short-hair. They had mice, and a rowdy puppy too, which the cats did fine around.
She's the Seal Lynx Point and very sweet. She is pretty small and good with all other pets. She came litter box trained.
The breeder gave us a Litter Box, Cat Litter, Kitten Food, her Papers, a Kitten Care book, and many other things.
We have her on a spay agreement also.
She is CFA registered and fits the standard from what I can tell.

They were originally selling them for $200-$500, but they were having trouble finding homes for those two for whatever reason.

So here is their website, I was just curious if this was a wise idea, buying from this lady. And if these look like good cats to you. (For possible Showing)
Her mom is "Corina" and her father is "Yoshi".

I'm going put up pictures of the little girl later as well! She still doesn't have a name, so name suggestions are definitely welcome!

Thanks guys!

Well, they do have a decent contract I think. I don't know about health testing though. Do you even do it for cats? I didn't notice on anyways. I like the bit about not declawing, and not keeping the kitten in a cage. The one year contract, is that good enough? I really don't know how long it takes for a cat to show genetic mishaps.

They don't have too many cats though, that is good as well.

Teehee, I never really though about good cat beeders, because they are so easy!

ive seen better...

but ive also seen ALOT worse

a 1 yr contract is pretty basic....like dogs 2 years is when things tend to start showing up...

but they do do PKD and HCM testing (cat health testing is fairly limited)

looking at their boys...WOW on the exotic, the himi is pretty too but thats an extreeemly nice exotic boy
and her girls are all very nice, great faces!

If you want a cat to show, spend some time at the show halls and watch the fanciers in action. Spend lots of time with the Persians, see which cats are doing well, and ask breeders if they'd be willing to mentor you. Many will be reluctant to sell a whole cat to a newbie -- and they should be -- but cats can be shown in Alter/Premiership class after being speutered.

My mom and I breed Korats and, yes, there is testing to be done for cats, too. While I'm not a Persian breeder, so I don't know what they are susceptible to, we test our cats for GM1 and GM2 which are the only prevalent, testable diseases in our breed. I only know that Korats are some of the healthiest breeds out there since it is an uncommon breed were every breeder knows every other breeder. I can't remember the last GM1/2 kitten born.
