UF howls early and often. Being a coonhound, howling is his specialty and he likes to go with his strengths. Mini howls too, occasionally, but she leaves most of the real work to Uncle Fred.

All three of my dogs howl when the sirens go off, they all sing together and are very musical. The coyotes usually join in too.

I've always wondered if the siren hurts their ears or is it a call of the wild thing?

My brother's husky spaniel mix has the scariest howl I've ever heard. It honestly sounds like a wearwolf's howl.

Awooo-OOO.

So scary. He uses it when he can't find the kitty, or I leave (yesss puppy luffs me yay!)

Dekka is the only one who howls. Its cute she throws her head up so hard her front feet pop off the ground. I dont' get to witness it very often, as she usually does it when I leave for school (or so I have been told)

Every time the storm sirens go off, two things happen. THe flash of bronki howling his homage to the great god dog in the sky goes through my mind, and i feel sad. I miss his so much, his howl was a thing of great beauty. Jim would grumple when i was gone that i should have put that dog in opera. WE were in a pet store once and the siren went off he sat down, his head went up and i was trying to shush him but the store owner and clerk so nonono dont..let him. And i did.:)

I have a peke and I don't know if it is even possible for him to howl. I tried getting him to mimic me one time, and he just went "erf?" Probably for the best.

None of my dogs howl. In fact, I've only had one dog who did - our last Rottweiler, Echo. She did it very rarely though, and only if there was a high pitched noise that was annoying her.

Only Sophie howls here, but she howls at the drop of a hat, sirens, imitating us, or even on car racing games when we don't change gears for a while.
