dock dogs

Have any of you heard of this sporting event dock dogs. Does anyone know how one would get their dog into something like that because THAT sport sums up my dogs loves in life lol water, toys, treats and playing with his people

I've seen them on T.V.!!! Love to watch them. EliNHunter's Hunter would do GREAT!!! We're anxious to see how he does on the summer trip East.

no one has said what dock dogs is?
im guessing its where dogs jump off a dock and retreive something underwater?

No .... the owner/handler throws a dummie or ball from a dock and they measure the distance where the dog hits the water,,,,longest leap wins. Last year a black Lab won the national second year in a row.

I'd love to see what Shiva would do. I know one thing - she'd definitely win for biggest splash

Of course, if Shiva did it, Kharma would have to do it to show us she can do better . . . she is SOOOOO competitive . . .

Yeah I saw two different competitions. One was where the dog had to sit behind a line and the owner went to the edge of the dock and throws the ball and the dog runs and jumps off and they measure the distance. Then I also saw one where they hang the dummy between two ropes and the dog has to run and jump and try to get the dummy and they measure the vertical distance so whatever dog gets the most air basically wins lol.

Teddy loves to swim and loves to fetch his ball in the water. Even when he is tired he doesn't want to stop lol. I would love to get him into something like that, something we can do together

I just watched it yesterday for the first time. I'd love to go see one of those competitions in person. Maybe there's a website on the internet. I haven't look yet myself.
