Hey! Where in GA are you? There are atleast 2 pools in the Atlanta-area and many events this summer in GA!

Seriously, you should. We go to a Canine 'Ranch' for our pool time. Plot of land, boarding kennels, agility, pool, sheep, classes, etc. People LOVE it. It's such a great idea.
That's like this place we have near us! They have sheep, agility, nosework, dock diving, etc, and it's all in ONE place. So cool. I was so glad to find out it's only 20 min away from me.

I have a Chuckit Gator that is awesome. And wubbas.

We went to a competition and during the practice runs, Romeo jumped twice but there was a blind where the ramp was, he couldn't see me and didn't know where to get out. And then during the competition runs, the loud speaker was blaring and I think it was just too much.

I'm free Fridays and Saturdays mostly. I'm trying to figure it out though..

but

I might only be able to come out once or twice, and where I'm probably moving...I'll pay half of someone's membership and the pool rental if I can come along? Are you a member Lost?
I am not a member. Next weekend they are going to be at a local winery, so i'll talk to them. I think if you're not a member, you email the people and they try to get a person out there to supervise. It is a boarding kennel so i think they usually have some people around.

People who have done it, you should post some pictures.

There's at least one place in the Chicago area that is like this, they have a pool, agility classes...
I told my mom if somebody gave me the money to build/open the business, I would do it. Surely there is some rich person out there who is just waiting to give some cute dog-loving girl a bunch of money to open such a business...

I've considered this too. I think they would do well in the metro areas, and not too expensive to build other than the pool. Perhaps starting with a basic center, building some capital, and then putting in the pool.

The revenue from holding a bunch of events would be great too.

You want pictures? :D

Just a word to those starting out. Keep it fun, light, and easy. Keep building drive and showing there is no big deal to jumping off a dock. Blaze is having some trouble right now with what seems to be a fear issue popping up with jumping off a dock, but we're working through it. We made baby steps at our last event and that's all I can ask for, I guess. So if they don't jump the first time, keep trying if you want to do the sport. Competitions can be madness, but it's also super fun and the people are alot of fun.

Seeing this kind of happiness is one of the many reasons we keep jumping, love this dog:

This is the only picture I got from last time which was Cricket's first time out on the dock... I don't think she jumped. She literally fell straight into the water haha. poor thing. Hopefully we will have more success this time around.

We're in Decatur, but I've been to the canine ranch and love it! We went for the first time a couple months ago when they were working on fixing up the pool, but now that it's finally open I'm planning to try and get up there at some point this summer!

I might try and take at least Abby and Karma(and force my friend to come with her dog) to their play pass event thing next weekend

Awwwww, poor Cricket.

I was looking through Ben's pictures. He got a picture before Hudson jumped and then one of him in the water. I'm really bummed he didn't get one of the jump, it was hilarious.

Blaze is full of awesome

So excited to get more involved with dock diving this summer!! We went to one with Zinga, but it was an indoor pool in the middle of winter and the water was freeeezing cold. She got in it once or twice and then decided that she didn't want to again.

She's OBSESSED with jumping at the local lakes though. Took her out for the first time this year and she was literally shaking the entire time out of craziness.

Dodge used to be a dock jumper, now he's retired though. We went to Nationals twice, 2007 and 2008. In '07 he was in the novice class and took home 9th and in '08 we didn't make the cut for finals. Still had fun though! Dex has yet to actually jump in a competition, maybe this summer it will happen??

I always had a lot of fun taking photos at events, here are some of my favorites! Sorry if there are too many.. I cut out half the ones I wanted to post.

And last but not least, Dodge and I with some bling

D and his participation ribbon from the '08 finals

Did you take this picture? I've totally seen it used in manipulations for The K9 Game before.
I did :) It was in Bemidji in June 2008. What's The K9 Game?

Edit: The dog's name is D.O.G in case anyone is wondering. He's got mad hops!
