Dock Diving photos/Mexidog and German Coolie adventure

My friend and I took our dogs to dock practice the other day. I managed to get a few pics of the dogs diving, but I didn't have a zoom lens with me so they aren't amazing. I have a LOT of pics to post.

Most of the dogs diving from the timeframe we were there were new to the sport. It was mostly a bunch of labs plus our dogs.

Ringo the German Coolie pup was nervous. My friend accidentally forgot his life jacket and he was unsure about jumping. He didn't end up going off this time around.

Then came our turn. Cricket LOVES to swim, but jumping off the dock was a whole new experience. She was really nervous and when I tossed her toy into the water she whined a bit and kept trying to go off but would hold herself back. The guy that was showing us how to do it decided to pat the water a bit to encourage her and she eventually went off.

Ringo is like insanely adorable. I can't wait to see Cricket build up her confidence! It's a shame you don't have a ramp in the lake, that's how we start dogs in the pool, we walk them down then encourage launching off the ramp and then ask for the dock.

After practice we decided to walk over to a neighboring pond area and let the dogs play for a bit before we had to go home. Quite a few people kept asking if they were the same breed or if they were littermates lol.

Ya I wish we had a ramp. The neighboring pond had a shallower bank so we practiced there a bit after the actual dock practice was over. Both of our dogs did fine jumping off the shallower spot. I live right near two lakes so I'm going to walk around and see if there are any spots I could use to practice.
