As a corollary to the waking up thread, who has dogs who try to get them to go to bed at a certain time? Is it gender related?

The boys I have now are content to snooze wherever I am until I announce it's bedtime. However, Patch, my first dog, would begin grumbling at me around 9pm because she wanted to go to bed (and couldn't because I always keep my bedroom door shut).

My parents' Rottie, also a female, would go to bed by herself but if my dad didn't follow within fifteen minutes, she was back out staring at him. If staring didn't work, she'd try the Lassie routine of walking toward him, then walking away and looking over her shoulder. If he was too dense for that, she'd start muttering at him.

So... who else?

Sam is usually good to snooze until I'm ready, but if it's getting really late then he'll come find me and start whining or stare at me. I keep my door shut too (or else the cats can get at the fish and the hamsters) so he has to wait for me to open it.

The dogs are pretty content to snooze wherever or put themselves to bed if it's getting too late for them but they don't care if I'm going to bed or not. Tika actually prefers me to stay up later because that gives her a chance to sneak up onto the sofa and snooze.

Watson will start wandering over to the upstairs and asking to get to go to bed around 10ish or so ;) If I am not ready he will sit with me and head for the upstairs whenever I move :D

nope. our beasts do their own thing. they don't sleep in our bed anyway so they just find their places on the couch and chair and snooze away. If we get too loud for them they just give us "the look" and a big SIGH.

Not really. Summer just crashes. Mia gets tired at about 10 pm and if you don't go to sleep then she'll get the zoomies and get really really hyper at about 11-12. When she's really tired, she tends to get more hyperactive. It's like she's fighting to not fall asleep. I make her go to bed and she's out in just a few seconds.

Kind of, some nights. Sometimes he will just get on my bed and stare at me if I'm on my computer, like 'c'mon Ma, you're supposed to be in bed by now' but most of the time, he's content to sleep out on the couch or in the window until I hop into bed.

Our routine now is he generally goes and lays out of my bedroom, on a couch, or chair, etc, then before I go to bed, I take him outside one more time, then I grab his treat, he comes into my room, which I gate close and he goes under the bed for about an hour, then proceeds to hop on my bed and sleep with me the rest of the night.

No they'll sleep wherever we are. We usually begin the evening watching tv on the couch, and they crash there after dinner. Then later on we go to my room for the rest of the night.
On very rare occasions, if I'm not home Juno will go to my room and sleep alone in the dark lol. Even though my mom is home watching tv.

Maisy doesn't care at all.

Pip does get antsy and go whine at the door to upstairs somewhere around 9-930pm. He will settle down if we don't go to bed, but is up and ready to go upstairs at the slightest hint we may be turning in.

Squash doesn't really "ask" to go to bed, but I can tell when his behavior starts to switch over into "overtired toddler" mode, which is generally any time after 9 pm. He becomes completely insufferable if he's not in bed by 10 pm.
