Do dogs, in general, have a sense of humor? A sense of irony, perhaps?

Do you care to share any stories?

Just a really quick one to get things started. I walk my boy for several miles a day through all sorts of terrain. When we're in the woods I love to wait until he's distracted and I'll hide behind a tree. It takes him about oh...10 seconds and then he follows the lead back to me, bounces up and smiles at me as if to say "that was a good one Dad."

We also play a game inside where he'll climb up and have his front half on my lap, then he won't look at me, and I'll pretend not to see him. I call it the "Not looking" game. After about 3 minutes we're both smiling and then giggling and it leads to a HUGE pharaoh hound smile (see my siggy) and me busting a gut laughing.

So any other takers?

Well Xerox....

I put down laminate flooring in my house a few weeks ago and they're really slick. Our new favorite game is that I hide in the bedroom at the end of the hall and Charlie comes running down the hall at top speed. When he gets 6 feet or so from the bedroom, I jump out into the hall and yell "Boo!" and he hits the brakes, slides the last 6 feet, and then runs back down the hall to do it again.

He could do this for hours. It's like playing with a 2 year old.

That's priceless! I love it.

One thing with Rose is she'll come running at you, then stop, but in the air. So I'll say "Rose goes woof?" (for some reason the word woof sets her off) and she'll run back down the hall at full speed. She'll come back and wait for the woof again before running off again. Then she'll do it again and again.

She also has this tendency to trick Beau when they're playing. You can tell she finds it amusing. She'll have the toy and she'll run off down the hall with it in her mouth. She'll come back down the hall and it's gone. She'll just sit with her butt in the air and watch as Beau frantically looks for the toy. He'll give up and stop trying to play. Then she'll run back and grab it to show him, then run and hide it again. It frustrates him, but she thinks it's a blast!

And then Beau.... his is just a character!

I think that proves my point...

Beau's one of those dogs that is constantly making you laugh.

Nikki's sense of humor is more like 'Go the hell away and leave me alone' lol

That's funny!

I read in a AKC Gazette article about a seeing eye dog that would on occasion lead his person to the wrong hotel room...and when she'd put her key in he'd be wagging his tail and smiling.

This same scenery occurs at my house at least a couple time a day, and I LOVE watching it :). It's how Mocha initiate a chase game with Muffin..

Mocha will come from nowhere & grasp Muffin's toy (while she was playing) then run off with it. Muffin chases Mocha around in a circle trying to get her toy back, then after a few good rounds, she will suddenly changed direction so they bumped into each other at full speed & both felt backward. Then they sit up across from each other & stare at each other for a while, until one does a play bow, and the game restarts.
