Do you wear perfume or cologne to work?

There is a guy at work that wears a strong and pungent cologne that is a little obnoxious. When I walk by him in the hall, it hits me like a brick wall. Also, there is a divorced woman here that wears an expensive and seductive smelling perfume. It has kind of a "Come and take me" scent and it makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

I think that everyone has a right to wear fragrances but wearing them won't help you so wouldn't it be better to not wear any?

Nope, I don't like perfume. And I hate it when someone wears too much perfume (as in, so much I can smell it in my cubicle when they aren't IN my cubicle.) It makes my throat burn. Bleeeh!

I'm sensitive to strong cologne because I've spent years singing in choirs. We're always told specifically to avoid scented aftershaves, perfumes and even deoderants. Some scents are so strong that a small amount makes it seem like people are wearing gallons of it.

An old choir director of mine used to say, "Scent should be discovered, not advertised."

I wear Christian D'ior "Poison" I have since I was 16, it's just about the only perfume I can wear...........most others give me a major headache about half way through the day.

I do wear it to work.........I don't bathe in it, just a couple little squirts on my wrists & neck :)

I can't think of anyone at work that wears it too strong.........but my boss wears some kind that I LOVE! I haven't figured out how to ask him without sounding like I am coming on to him, LOL

I don't EVER wear perfume... I can't stand it.

But I remember one time at my OBGYN's office we were seeing a different Dr one day (we call this woman the ice princess because she has ZERO bedside manner... thank God she wasn't my actual Dr) anyway.... she was wearing SO much perfume during my examination that I could actually TASTE it. I had the worst headache. You would think she would know better working in a field full of pregnant women.

Nope - I'm allergic to it, and I can get sick just by working too closely with someone who has "taken a bath in cologne" - it's pretty bad!

I hate people who wear perfume like a second layer of clothing. I myself prefer a few spritzes of body spray or a couple dabs of Pure Instinct on pulse points...it's not really a perfume, but it adjusts to your own body chemistry so you give off your own best scent.

Ooooooooh! I have wanted to try the other "Poisons" but I am afraid they will cause my head to hurt, are they similar or completely different? The one I use is the dark purple bottle........I think the original type, came out a LOOONG time ago, LOL (been awhile since I was 16, hehehehe)

I live in fear that they will quit making it and then I will have to start all over finding something I can use.

I use the men's cologne called Quorum. It's been around a long time and it isn't advertised much but I haven't met one woman that didn't like it. It has a nice masculine scent.

Nope. I can usually barely stand even small amounts of perfumed stuff, whether it's perfume/cologne/shampoo/soap/cleaning products/etc. I also develop sensitivities to stuff that never used to bother me. When people put on lotion or perfume in class I usually end up having to leave the room, which pissed off a few of my teachers because they think it's "just a good excuse for me to skip their class." I think it's a really good excuse to leave considering the alternative. As for the people who wear cologne or cigarette smoke like it's going out of style, I can't breathe near them or touch them, and sometimes even standing near them makes me ill, depending upon how thoroughly they have bathed in Eau De Skunk that morning.

I can't think of anyone at work that wears it too strong.........but my boss wears some kind that I LOVE! I haven't figured out how to ask him without sounding like I am coming on to him, LOL
My friend has one that smells like that.. LOL! I grilled him on what cologne he was wearing, because it smelled good enough to eat. Literally. Better than ice cream.

I don't like wearing perfumes, I can't stand to smell the strong fragrant coming from others, and my hubby is allergic to them. So are we a perfect match or what?

I wear a light fregrance... nothing strong. I have to be careful what I wear because a strong perfume can cause respiratory distress in the babies. I usually just spray a squirt of curve or vivid in the air and just walk under it to give me a light fregrance. I can't stand this one lady that works in administration at the hospital that must take a bath in her perfume.... if I get stuck on the elevator with her it will literally start to burn my nose. I think some people need a lesson on just how much is too much perfume or cologne...lol.

JMHO, but I think it's unprofessional to wear a fragrance that could even remotely affect someone in the office. The slightest HINT of fragrance is probably fine, but if I had to pass someone over for a promotion, it would be the tart in the Tatiana, not the girl who just has a fresh, clean aura about her. Or, I would can the guy whose apres shave was more like an advertisement than an aperitif.
