Usually... If I didn't Bo would never get walked!

I didn't yesterday, because it was pouring and I was ill :( And today it is lovely (but COLD) and I still feel poorly, so I am debating what to do... I took the day off to recover, so I think I should stay in and warm, but it's such a nice day, I am torn.

We don't have a nice small gentle place to walk.. it's either the pastures in the wind and rain, or driving somewhere usually equally as exposed... I long for a nice pretty park sometimes.

Yes allways.I love being out with them in woods. They get to long walks a day plus a short one before sleep.Depending on weather or time we are out from 2.5 hours a day to five.It does take most of my free time. But I love walking and love being in nature.Weather doesnt bother me.If it is snowing I dress well,if it is raining I put a hat or cap,if it is hot we go out in dawn and after sunset. The girls are used to it.And if I cut down on walks on an hour or so they are totaly crazy next day.So no time to be lazy.

Big snow storms keep us in only because it isn't safe to be out on the roads, whether it be us driving to take them somewhere or if we are going for a walk along the roads. If it is raining they don't like to go out, so we take them for a car ride because it keeps them mentally stimulated. If it is really hot they go swimming. On top of this we have an acre fenced in for them to run and play in.

nope. i don't walk them a huge amount anyway (too many loose dogs), but they don't go out much at all if it's bitterly cold/raining/snowing. their choice as much as mine. i'm lucky if i can get two out of three of them to pee on the grass instead of the deck when it's raining.

No. When the temp drops below 30 or it's pouring rain Orson doesn't really care to be out much more than going potty (and even then he don't want to but he makes it quick)

I have a treadmill, and he uses that.

Phoebe don't mind ANY weather..........but I DO! LOL

Sierra walks to and home from work with me when she comes along, (only about a 10 minute walk) and that's even in the bad weather (ESPECIALLY when the roads are bad like today and it's not safe to drive unless you have to). But otherwise, her paws get cold halfway to work and she starts hopping, so I don't think taking her on a longer walk would be a good idea. She gets LOTS of playtime at the store though, and on days when I don't work I take her out to the park as the loose snow doesn't seem to bother her feet as much as the sidewalks.

I dont walk in the pouring rain unless we already skipped the previous day's walk for whatever reason. We do walk in sleet, hail (we don't get huge hail here, I have never seen it larger than a marble and even that is very rare) and snow though. I actually miss more walks during the summer because it is too hot than because of rain/snow LOL

I would go on walks with him in pretty much any type of weather as long as he wants to. So far though, he doesn't like to walk in rain so we don't go out much on those days except for potty breaks and I can't imagine he'll be that excited about going out in -25 degree celsius temperatures either, but if he wants to go sure I'll go too.

It depends... this time of year th dogs hate to be outside. When we've got freezing rain, 30mph winds and subzero temperatures... there's no way a Doberman will enjoy a walk!

They can't go tto the dog park for awhile now, because they can't keep boots on and everythig here is covered with ice - they'd cut their paws something terrible.

If it's cold or it's raining, its all I can do to drag Joey outside to go potty. You should have seen how pitiful he looked yesterday when I cruelly made him walk with me to the dumpster so I could throw away his poo bag. His ears were down and he was slinking the whole way. I have a fleece jacket for him, but I think I'm going to invest in a fido fleece. Plus, yesterday everything got covered with ice, and I'm not especially good with ice, so it was probably safer for them not to go on a walk. Don't want mommy falling on them!:D

My dogs get really antsy if they don't get enough exercise so we have to walk them no matter the weather. I buy all sorts of high performance outdoor apparel...for walking the dogs. It's hilarious when I call a place to ask about a product that is typically used for extreme alpine sports but I just want it for walking the dogs.

These, for example:

Since Meg is stuck going to work with me at the barn regardless of the weather, we can easily skip walks when it is nasty. She get plenty of running/playing/sniffing time at work, both outside and in the indoor ring. She'd rather nap on days like today anyway!

Yes, but if it rains really heavily the walks are shorter. We have a small paved backyard so I take the dogs out for walks not only for excersice but also to do their business. Before bedtime they pee in the yard but the rest of the day they do that during their walks.

No, I don't. I sometimes walk with Eve in the rain, but that's because I like rain and so does she, and there's something neat about coming home soaking wet. lol

I never walk them outside the yard during thunder storms, just because I don't know if that day will be the day they decide to be thunderphobic. Border Collies are notorious for being sound sensitive and I know at least one of mine will turn up afraid of thunder. I don't want them to bolt and walking them on-leash is not exercise to my dogs.

We travel TO snow so I can let the dogs play in it! We all love snow.

I hardly ever walk Kona, to tell ya the truth... she is a calm dog and is happy going outside for about a 1/2 hour to play ball.

So no, I don't brave the weather to walk her... she is never on the leash anymore, she goes outside, does her business, sniffs a little and comes back in.

No, I don't. We've walked in rain, and like Grace said, "there's something neat about coming home soaking wet. lol"

It never snows or hails *sigh*
