I wanted a German shepherd. And I love having him. So yes. As far as I know, since he's my first dog - he's my favorite breed.

Although, I'd love to acquire an English mastiff in the future.

I'm going to say yes; I will own my favorite breed someday. The future is unknown however I have many, many years to research and get some of favorite breeds. Next year I'm hoping to have adopted an Aussie so that is one of my favorite breeds that I will own. I currently have Emma and Moco, and Shih Tzu's and Goldens are also my favorite breeds. I guess the only ones that are left are English Setters and possiblely a sight hound. I think that is all do-able.

My favorite breed is a sheltie. We had one and he was the *BEST* dog, but he died of kidney disease. The vet told us shelties are prone to kidney disease, so we went with a different breed (Hungarian Vizsla) when we were ready to adopt another dog, but we got one dog and then decided he needed a playmate and we fell in love with Hope (Alaskan Malamute)!

I love all my dogs, golden, lab, boston, and jap. chin. I love my lab cody because of his personality. He is absolutly huge, but the biggest baby I have, he really thinks he is a lap dog. I love my boston Tippy, because of her terrier blood, she is always up to something, and despite her size she is the Queen. I love my golden and chin too. BUT the dog that I've always wanted is a bull terrier, not a pit, but a bull terrier. I've never got one, because terriers (at least in my experience) tend to rule the roost, and I don't want to take the chance that a bullie would not fit in our pack. Maybe some day

I have my Rottie-- the second for me.

Being in the pet trade for 15 years, and then working as a professional trainer for the last nine, I've had the chance to get to know, train, house, and foster many breeds. My favorites are the Mastiff-derivatives--Great Danes, Rotties, Mastiffs, Great Pyrenees, Saint Bernards, etc... but the Rottie is my favorite.

In the past, I've owned labs, goldens, beagles, several mixed breeds, cocker spaniels, dachsands, collies, pyrs, saints, and danes.

I would love to have an Irish Wolfhound one day, but that will be far into the future. After school, graduate school, getting settled in a job/new house etc. Actually, looking at all that, it's going to be a while before I can have any dog :)

My two faves are cockers and collies, have one of each, as you can see by my avatar... my other two are corgis and St Bernards, some day when I have a huge farm house and lots of room I'll have my ST Bernard, don't know if I'll ever get a corgi though.
