Acording to OLN's Top dog, the most trainable dog was the GSD or Belgian Malenois. There were #'s 1 and 2. Cant remember the order.

ahhh this is too difficult. I don't believe one breed is 'smarter' than another. it's all in the owner. ok...so obviously there was some 'study' done......so..what is it.

Anyone who tests dogs "smartness" and publishes the results is an idiot.

I'm going to say poodle! hehe.....and not just because I own a poodle.....ok maybe it's because I own one. My poodle is the smartest.

There's a difference between problem solving "smart" and obedience "smart" is there not?? Luke, for example, is VERY obedient, but he also has his "blonde" moments, lol. Of course, he still is a puppy. :)

Uhm, there has to be something wrong with this data if they have cocker spaniel higher than any other breed. No offense, but. . . .

It's measuring obedience, not intelligence. Two different things. Some of the smartest breeds are notoriously bad obedience dogs.

Not that I think the dogs listed are "dumb" breeds :)
