I don't mean do you talk to your dogs...I'd venture to guess most if not all of us talk to out dogs.

But I find myself talking to my dogs...and then answering back for them. Or my mom will talk to me in one of the dog's "voices" and of course I answer back

So I'm just wondering if I'm off my rocker or if everyone else does this too :rofl1:

Sometimes I do with Ripley if he's having one of his really "Duh" moments, haha. Other than that, not really that I can think of. My mom does it more than I do. She's good at making voices for them, and she always does it in a comical, funny way.

Yes, definitely. :) No, I never answer back for them. They do that themselves, whether vocally or otherwise.

Okay, I do this all the time. I'll be talking to Maddie (especially) and my Mom will walk by and say "what did she say?" (meaning Maddie -- trying to poke fun at me :p lol) and I'll answer for her. But Maddie is sooo expressive with her eyes and body language there's no doubt that I'm right :rofl1:

Maddie says "whatever" a lot. She has a lot of "cockertude" sometimes :lol-sign:

All the time. I also do it for all of the dogs at work as well. And most of them have SUCH potty mouths! LOL

Hell yes! I'm not alone! Sometimes I'll talk to them and interpret what they're "saying" from their expression and the context of the situation, then talk to them again. It's very one-sided, but we have good talks that way. :D Other times I'll "translate" a conversation between the two of them, with character voices and expressions to match.

Occasionally, not all that often.

But...my job is to sit in a run with 40 dogs for 7 hours straight. With NOTHING to do except make sure no one kills each other or eats poop. We find a lot of ridiculous ways to pass the time, and making up dog conversations/soap operas is one of them.

Mary how come you don't have to scrub the floors?
thump thump thump with a big ol grin.
That dog understood ever word I ever thought let along came out of my mouth.

Yes I have conversations with my dogs. We talk on our walks and in the house, and when I get to bed with one on one side, and one on the other I say our "prayers" and tell them we made it through another day. Isn't that just amazing. They nuzzle and agree. They understand me too. Not sure anyone else really does.

Yeah, I do. I have a super high pitched, annoying voice with a completely over the top southern drawl that I use for Eve's "responses".

Guilty! I have different voices and personas for them. Monday is the eager, not-too-bright field hockey team leader, and Katie is the long-suffering, but tolerant, valedictorian. Nice to know that I'm not the only one!

Marco Polo, btw, is the kindly, patronizing slave owner dealing with an extremely slow-witted, though well-meaning, servitor. I feel that this is totally true to life. He is, after all, a cat.

I said yes in my post, but I meant to say no, I don't have conversations for them, just with them.
