I just saw the "how did your dog get its name?" thread and thought this might be interesting as well. Seems to me most people don't choose their dogs' names before hand like I usually tend to do, so do any of you have names chosen for your future dogs? If so, what are they and what are your reasonings for it?

I'll start....

Two of my future Toller girls will be name Aero & Chilli. Aero will be my first Toller, which I will be getting in 2008 and I'm not sure why but I've always liked the name "Arrow" for a Toller...it just seems to suit them, I just changed the spelling as I prefer it as "Aero" plus it seems more girly to me that way. Chilli, I've always liked for Tollers and I think it must be their coat colour...lol. I'm not really sure why I like it exactly. If I ever have a male Toller, I want to call name him after something like a city, town etc. in Nova Scotia but I'm not sure what. I'm thinking of naming my first Belgian "Static" if she's a Groenendael just because I like it, but if I end up with a Tervuren I'm not sure what she will be called. Other than those, I have no others at the moment.

So...do you have any?

Well, I'm not thinking about future dogs yet, because ours is still a puppy...but I can share how we decided on her name, which is kinda simple and obvious.
We were driving from shelter to shelter, to find "the" dog both of us would click with. We were at the last shelter and there she was...this little black and white bundle of joy :D
So after going through the whole process we started to think about a name...my husband jokingly said: "Well, she looks like a cow. We should call her steak."
We kept joking about it and then he said "We could name her T-Bone." Honestly, I thought that was crazy...but then we got stuck with it. It suits her, because she is a comedian.

EDIT: Ups... I just saw the other thread "How did you name your dog..I'm sorry!

I'd like to get a female Wolfhound (in time) and name her Wren so it would be Wraith and Wren.

I have a name-theme with any Sibe I own that is water. The registered name can e anything but the call name has to have something to do with water. A couple names I really live are River, Rain, Praia, Current, Rapid, and Scuba

A couple other names I love are Fathom, Savvy, Torque, Samaraii, Tanto, Ciaran, and Ciel

I have never named a dog beforehand. I like to wait a few days till I get to know the dog a little then choose a name. But I do have names that IF it fit the dog I'd name him/her.

If I ever own a Whippet, his/her call name will undoubtedly be "Devo".

Future name for a Border Collie will probably be "Riddle Me This" with a call name of "Trick".

I have a huge list of names but don't feel like posting them all, lol

I am FAR frrom creative. The only dog I ever named(when I was 9) was Cocoa, or "Chocolate Cocoa Mix". Pretty dumb.

hopefully all my future dogs will already have names considering I'm addicted to those wonderful rescue dogs.

I THINK my next Belgian will be a bitch and I'd like to name her "Siren" - police related yet I wanted a "meaning" name and a Siren is a beautiful woman who lured sailers to the shores of land. :)

I just like the name. I also love the name Dante(but its Riots S&R parents name) hehe

and Loki. I LOVE the name loki

I generally wait to get to know the dog before I name it. Sawyer was named 'Remy" until I actually went to pick him up, and realized that Sawyer fit so much better.

I do kind of want to name a dog Togo. It's just fun to say.

I have decided to call my new puppy Loki, inspired by SummerRiot on a previous thread. Love the name, very cute.
