Do you decorate for seasons and/or holidays?

I always look forward to September, because it's the beginning of getting to decorate for seasons and holidays!

I put out some Halloween decorations this past weekend because I couldn't wait any longer

I'm really selective about decorations, and I've accumulated some very cute things since college (I especially love the Halloween/fall stuff from Yankee Candle and Pottery Barn).

So... do you love decorating for the seasons/holidays as well?

I desperately, desperately want to. I won't have time to in WA, at least not for Halloween, since we're getting there on the 30th...but I will for the other holidays!

I find it's especially important for me (since I live where it's "warm" year round!) to decorate for different seasons. It really helps break up the year and it makes it feel like the seasons are more "real."

And besides.. fall stuff is SO pretty. I love pumpkins and gourds and Indian corn and leaves.

Some years I do. I grew up with my mom decorating for the seasons and holidays and really loved it. I actually really do like doing it just often we are in the middle of some major project or rehab on the house that makes it seem silly to bother decorating.

For some things a little bit. I have a bunch of plastic Easter eggs I bought with the sole intention of making an Easter egg wreath. I've been saving stuff on Pinterest for fall wreathes. I have some fall stuff, mostly pumpkins and stuff, but I also have my skeleton lawn flamingos!

But Christmas.
Christmas.
All bets are off when it comes to decorating for Christmas.
It's a little out of hand.

You could incorporate your major projects and rehab into Halloween decorations... instant haunted house :rofl1:

I grew up with my mom decorating for seasons and holidays, and I always looked forward to getting out the boxes and putting the decorations out. My mom is a lot more crafty than I am, though! She always made (and she still does) wreaths and table centerpieces from colored leaves and other fall'esque stuff. I miss helping out with those projects! I collected some massive pine cones on a hike last fall with the intentions of painting/decorating them with my mom, but we never ended up doing anything with them.

Wait... flamingo skeletons?! Those sound right up my alley!

I decorate for Halloween and Christmas, no other holidays. Halloween's pretty mellow - I'll be decorating mostly at the boyfriend's place this year because he gets a lot of trick-or-treaters, so I'll spend the evening there.

Christmas is FUN. I have bins upon bins of my mom's Christmas decorations that I've inherited. :)

For Halloween we used to do a full graveyard in our front yard full of comical and punny epithets. Monsters all around. One year we even strung a ghost on a wire from our house to the neighbors across the street. We of course had all kinds of inside decor too.

Christmas we actually had a Santa and chimney that the Santa was motorized and wet up and down lol. Lights everywhere, garland inside and out and all kinds of random decorations.

I don't have my own place yet, but I LOVE decorating for holidays! We don't really decorate for spring holidays much... like Easter, or St Patty's Day, or anything, but the Fall/Winter holidays, we definitely do. Halloween is my favorite, then we always decorate for Thanksgiving and Christmas. :)

I don't like the creepy aspect of Halloween, so I tend to avoid that one. I have a "welcome" sign by my front door that I change out a few times a year, so it currently says "Happy Fall!", and I will carve pumpkins a day or two before halloween, but that's about it.

Christmas though, I definitely decorate.
