Does a toddler REALLY understand why it is being spanked any more than a dog does?
We are supposed to be role models and protectors of our children. They look to us for guidence and boundaries.
Has anyone ever considered why they will only use positive techniques on a dog, and not on a child?
Children, while they are to all intents and purposes little people, with opinions, ides etc etc - they're LEARNING, they process things differently.
We spoke today about a child.
"Mummy hates me."
"Why?"
"Because she goes upstairs and locks herself in her room."
Now - mummy is depressed. But you can see - kids don't perceive the world how we do....
Smacking never did me any harm (so I say)... maybe it did though? Because until recently, I thought it was ok to use physical discipline on kids, but not on dogs...
Now where's the logic in that??
