Hudson is usually Hudson, or Huddy in conversation. I don't think he'd respond to Huddy though. He is also known as

Huddy Huddy Hudson Free
Bad Dog - He might think his name is Bad Dog. I'm working on reinforcing that belief
Black & White
Black, White, & Crazy
The Fuzzy One
Tails - He also response fairly well to this one
Wiggles or Wiggles McGee

We often refer to them by colour. Eg "what's the brown one up to now? I don't know but the black one stinks"
Mine are The Black Dog and The Brown Dog quite a bit as well! "Where's that brown dog? She's my good one. The black one is always so naughty!"

In general, mine have nicknames that are off-shoots of their real names. Meg is Smeggles more than anything around the house, and Gusto is To (pronounced Toe, not Too). They get more nicknames when snuggling or playing, but as far as actually calling them, it's either that or their names.

Years ago, we started calling Henry "Mr. P" as a shortening of my last name. He was Henry Perrine, so Mr. P made sense. Somehow it morphed to Pea, I guess like sweet pea, and now for several years he's been called Peabody. He responds to Pea and Bubs a lot too. Occasionally he gets called Henny.

Rhys (pronounced "Reese") gets called silly variations of Rhys, like Rhysy, Rhyser, and the Rhysy Cup Pup, like the candy. His main nickname, one that we use often is conversation, is Bug. I guess like love bug?

When referring to the two of them, I almost always say Pea and Bug.

Merlin, 90% of the time is Merlin
but he also goes by and responds to..
Merly bird (A nickname bestowed on him by my former housemate because he likes to get up early)
Merlin Augustus (his full name mostly used in affection or if he's in trouble)
Marline because my french mother CANNOT pronounce Merlin and at this point is set in her ways

and then after that is a variation of wiggle butt, bunny butt, bunny rabbit etc.. that he only responds to if you are in baby talk already

Ha, sometimes we do call Squash "that white dog," "polar bear," or "p-bear" but more when we're talking about him than talking to him.

Every once in awhile we refer to Maisy as "the little one," same thing - not directed towards her but about her.

Oh that reminded me. My roomate called Quest Questicles (rhymes with testicles) all the time and the little poo head loved it.

I've totally slipped up and called Tulsa "Squid" online before. She gets that more than Tulsa. Other times it it Squishy or Squiddy Squish which is how it evolved.

Harlow is exclusively Nub at home. Or Tater.

Rider is typically Ry, occasionally Floo Floo or Mr. Man.

We are cool. Lol

Jubel goes by Jubel about half the time. Most common nickname is Jubes, closely followed by pup/puppy dog. Occasionally Jube-a-loo, Jube-a-lee, Jubel boy. He answers readily to them all.

Joey gets called "Joe" often. Occasionally he gets called "Joseph" or "Buddy".

Most of the time I call Lucy "Bunny" or "Bunny Rabbit". As a puppy she had a big head with big ears so the nickname kind of stuck.

Walter gets called "Squish" a lot. He loves it when you hug him and give him a "squish". And of course he gets called "Wally" sometimes too.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I call Pippa by her name maybe a third of the time (or "Pip"), and I default to "Little". I wonder if that will change as she becomes "Big"

Rowan is usually Rowan, but sometimes it's shortened to Ro. He'll respond to either. He also gets called Rowan T. Brittany, Rowan T. Britdog, Rowan Tiberius Brittany, Rowanaki, Rowanaki T. Brittany and Ro-Man. Occasionally he's Ro-Diggity-Dog. He's also sometimes Baby Bo-Dog.

Riff is called Riffers or Riffer more often than not. He's also Riffer Raffer, Raffers, Rafferty, Riff Raff Paddiwack, Riffers T. Jones and Riffers T. Dog. I refer to him as "my little dude" a lot.

Both of them get called Mr. Man, Little Man, and Baby Dog (usually Riff but sometimes Rowan.)

I almost never call the dogs by their proper names...

Onyx is Anyan like 90% of the time...like of like Onion, so then she also gets called Onion Bun. Onular is her other main nickname. I even CALL her "ANYAAAAAAAN" most of the time...

Yarrow is Puppy Boy also like 90% of the time.

Jasper is Jazz mostly, but he does get called Jasper fairly frequently.
