for your christmas presents lol.

Did you ever snoop around for your gifts? and did your parents know you snooped? and is it hard for you to keep quiet about what you got other people?

I was a HORRIBLE child at Christmas... still am LOL. I cannot be trusted to be alone with my presents. The "Bad Tanya" wins out everytime. I just can't STAND the suspense lol.

As a kid I used to snoop... well After I found out there was no santa Claus (at least not one that came down the chimney and delivered presents). Once I figured out that the presents were always in the house somewhere I started snooping LOL.

I was bad. I thought I was clever and that my mom never knew... come to find out... she knew all along.

She says she always knew... she just didn't say anything because it was the only way she could get some peace and quiet before Christmas and the only way I would sleep Christmas eve was if I snooped lol. So she acted like she didn't know but said it was obvious something was up because after I would snoop I would NEVER mention my presents again after that lol.

Guess I wasn't as sneaky as I thought i was.

Now Brian has my gifts delivered to his office so I can't peek lol.

I am also horrible about keeping it a secret what I got for others. I taunt them and taunt them hoping they are going to ask or figure it out lol. My mom says as a kid I would always say "You are really going to like your present. do you want a hint? I'll give you a hint if you want one. Do you want to know?" and she would always say no and she said that drove me crazy because I wanted to tell so badly LOL

I STILL snoop around.
I am at my mom's house alone and there is about 30+ gifts under the tree now. lol
I have found 5 that belong to me. hahaha

The reason I snoop is because I do not like surprises. I hate them.
I hate it when people buy me gifts b/c 1) I dont want them, half the time, and 2) I hate not knowing what they are.
Yes I am a loser. lol

LOL, I'm exactly the same way.

I became a master at sneaking inside packages, the ones wrapped well I didn't touch but ones where I can peel the tape just a bit to peek I did, and also gift bags.

Nope, I didn't/don't snoop around to see the gifts before they were/are wrapped.....BUT....

I am a TERRIFIC guesser of things that are already wrapped. I am not saying that to brag, it's not brag worthy........it's more of a curse, LOL. I am so good/bad about it that my mother always put my gifts in back of the tree with other gifts piled on them, I couldn't touch, shake, squeeze, or even look to closely at what I had. And now Kevin has learned to do the same! :lol-sign:

I really don't try to ruin my surprise! I love surprises, I just have an uncanny gift, hehehe

I snooped once, my parents always kept the presents in their closet and it was no secret.. I was so overcome with guilt that I wouldn't let myself enjoy that Christmas. I was such a sensitive kid, I could punish myself way worse than anyone else would if I ever did anything wrong.

Needless to say I never ever peeked again and never will! I am really good at guessing what people got me, I almost always know what my gift will be before I get it. IF anyone ever plays that "Guess what I got you" game, I always purpously guess wrong so as not to accidently guess it and spoil the surprise. Mortifying!

i was HORRIBLE as a child. i would actually very carefully unwrap the presents, and then re-wrap them up once i figured out what it was. now having 2 boys of my own... they don't seem to concerned about it.... my parents left for texas at the beginning of Novmeber, and in their spare bedroom, left ALL of the presents for me, my wife, and the boys... it is KILLING me, knowing that they are there, and noone will ever know if i open anything.

i'm such a bad bad man. :rofl1:

i still remember finding some PlayMobile set for my brother tucked away in the attic. we drug it out, and ripped the box open to play with it... let's just say mom was NOT happy when she came upstairs and found out. :)

Are you my brother?

LOL my oldest brother (turning 40 next year) is the same way and always has been. we even have to hide the halloween candy from him lol.

So... I come by it honestly. and yes I was a master (so i thought) at unwrapping and rewrapping gifts. I thougth I was SO smart and my mom never knew. now she tells me she knew all along but didn't say anything because it made the days before christmas more enjoyable for her and she could actually get some sleep Christmas eve lol

X2. I snooped to see what my own gifts were as a kid, of course, but I don't now because I already know what I'm getting. It's the gift-giving that is hard for me - I'm SOOOOO excited to give people presents I can't keep my mouth shut about it. Amber and I are finally giving Cristy her present today, and I'm going to be stuffing it in a few layers so I'm not tempted to shove it in her lap and order her to unwrap it. :rofl1: It's been so hard not hinting.

And don't even get me started on the SS stuff. . . there are like 10 chazzers who know who I had because I was so excited I had to tell somebody!

I love surprises, so I can't say I was ever that bad. I don't peek at my presents at all. I love watching people being surprised by the presents I get them, so I don't like to even think about ruining that pleasure for somebody else.

The worst that my sis and I ever did when we were kids was gently shake my presents to see if we could figure out what they were. Mom cured us of that pretty quickly, though. One year she wrapped up several Lego sets. When we shook them and heard the pieces rattling, Mom said: "Oh no! You broke it! Why'd you shake it?" We were in tears, thinking we had just broken our Christmas presents.

Yes, my mom was evil like that. ;)

I am really excited about what I got Brian for christmas this year and I can't stop talking about it to him lol. I try not to give too many hints but it is KILLING ME.

christmas cannot come fast enough because I don't know how much longer I can keep the secret without BURSTING lol.

Are you my brother?
hi sis. how you doin? :p the eerie part of this whole thing.... i only live up outside of Lebanon (Annville actually), and MY name is Brian. :rofl1:

yea. i was absolutely horrible when it came to that. my wife cannot believe that i haven't at least once tried to open the ones at my parents house.

to this day, I still have NOT figured out where my parents hid the rest of the presents. we never found all of them... and the odd part of it all, is that I now own the house I grew up in... so you would think I would have found all of the good hiding spots so far.

LMAO... Ok that is just freaky lol.

Another Brian? Now I hope you aren't my long lost brother lol ... it's confusing enough in my life with the three Brians I already have lol. I can't have a 4th lol.

You know... after I stopped believing in Santa my mom didn't even TRY to hide the gifts lol. they just sat wrapped in the spare bedroom. I think she was setting ME up :O

I snooped once. My sister was really the one who started it, I was just following her around. Anyway, we found the presents my mom had bought us, guessed who got what, and were completely wrong!!!! There were some things that I got really excited about... only to find out they weren't mine. :( I haven't snooped since.

Nope. Not once. I made it a point of honor not to. You can leave something unwrapped and put it in a drawer or closet, tell me specifically not to look there because it's there, and I'll never even touch the hiding place :)

If you said that to me you would have to tie me to a chair lol

LOL I rememer one year when I still lived at my dads house my oldest brother was over and he asked where his present from me was... I told him it was hidden. OBVIOUSLY I had hidden it in my room LOL so I wrestled him all the way down the hallway to try to keep him out of my room and to keep him from peeking lol even though secretly I wanted to tell him what he got lol.
