Anyone take it? Looking for reliable reviews. I think I'm going to order some. If I do, I will post my own review here. :)

I uh, use it to kill bugs. It's a supplement now? What benefit is it supposed to have? I know it's non-toxic, but it's an abrasive product so I have trouble considering ingesting it o_o

Yes, they have a Food Grade version and it is a supplement that is supposed to be good for a lot of things. I am really interested in it, as I recently started using essensial oils and I believe I am allergic or somehow sensitive to them. I started ingesting them, and have had daily headaches and frequent migraines since I started taking them. Then a friend told me about DE and I'm interested.

I know they have food grade DE, but I've never actually known why. I'll be interested in your expierence.

But yeah, the only thing I've known that it's good for is anti-parasitic bc of the abrasive characteristics.

If you're getting poor reactions, stop taking the oils. There are compounds in essential oils that can make you really sick. If you have a sensitivity, it's not worth the risk.

What benefit do you hope to gain from taking DE?

Yeah, I've stopped taking them.

Honestly I have so many problems lol. A few things I hope the DE will help me with are immune health (I suffer from chronic sinus infections), high blood pressure, and bone and joint pain. I also suffer from constant headaches and frequent migraines and I'm hoping maybe it will help with that as well. I also read it can help with weight loss, which would be awesome, but that's not why I'm wanting to try it.

Also wanting to try key biotics.

I honestly don't see why abrasive fossilized sea creatures would help with any of the issues you describe. Parasites? Yes. Things outside the digestive tract? Nope.

Probiotics are awesome, but again, benefits outside of the digestive tract seem like they would be less likely.

Have you talked to a doctor? Did they take you seriously? If not, find one who will!

I know it's probably not the case for most people, but I was having extremely frequent migraines (not headaches; full migraines, with visual symptoms and nausea) and no other symptoms. I had a root canal done (because a technition noticed a teeny shadow on an x-ray) and since then have had zero migraines. It's been months--I was having 1-2 a week for years.

My doctors all said that migraines 'just happen,' and I didn't think to mention to my dentist that I was having migraines. If you haven't had a dental x-ray in a while, it might be worth checking out. It's been like magic; I can't believe it. My dentist said that migraines are a very common symptom of tooth and jaw problems.

It's a long shot, but I'm seriously blown away.

I take diatomaceous earth. It's not abrasive to your digestive tract. Trust me, I'm a celiac and know exactly what it feels like when my villi are being shredded. lol.

Basically it's the tiny microscopic skeletons of diatoms. They're made of silica. The silica works as a dessicant and damages the bodies of parasites with exoskeletons. It's supposed to work on soft bodies parasites too. Last I heard Texas A&M was doing studies on controlling worms in goats with it.

Anyway, because these are diatom skeletons they're little structures, not random silica powder. I've read that they carry a charge and as a result will bind to individual pathogens in the digestive tract, and also bind to toxins and carry them out. Kind of like activated charcoal. I haven't read any peer reviewed studies on it though.

What I will say is this: It's awesome if your stomach is hurting superbad. If I have bubble guts, I take a big tablespoon "dissolved" in some juice. TMI ALERT! >>If I'm having diarrhea, and take DE, it's literally gone within an hour. Gone. It has been a lifesaver for me so many times and allowed me to not miss work. I don't know if it's because it binds up toxins, or being a dessicant it firms things up just enough to make it normal, but it works. It makes my tummy stop hurting. It's harmless. And that is awesome.<< TMI OVER.

It worked really well for when Charlie had the runs too.

Lastly, if you're on any medications DO NOT take them the same time as the DE. I have read that since DE binds up toxins, it can mess up you medications by binding them up before they are absorbed. If it's true that it does bind up toxins then that would make sense. I also don't take it every day because I'm lazy and it tastes terrible. Just when my guts feel bad.

A lot of the things you're mentioning here have nothing to do with the digestive tract, which is what DE and keybiotics seem to be intended to help with. I doubt they benefit much else - everything I'm reading is on out-there natural health websites, nothing even remotely founded.

Honestly? High blood pressure and bone/joint pain can both very much be related to the weight - I speak from experience. I'm still overweight now, mind you, but making healthy lifestyle changes made a difference of night and day in my blood pressure and a lot of other health problems that I thought were independent of the weight.

As far as weight loss, there really are no true quick fixes. Scrapping junk food, eating healthy foods (as little packaged as possible and try for relatively low-carb) and exercising at least 3-4 times a week is what does the trick. Plus, removing processed and packaged foods from your diet can do wonders for your immune system - I used to get sick at the drop of a hat and now, it's very rare. I just had my first cold in three years LOL.

^ yes yes yes, also this! I had killer migraines for years, until I finally treated my TMJ disorder. Now I wear a bite guard at night and my headaches are gooooone.

^ This too. Your gut health does have a big impact on the rest of your body, BUT adding diatomaceous earth isn't a cure all tonic. It works for some really specific things. Is it possible to have a positive effect on your other symptoms? I guess. Personally, I'd see a nutritionist and work on your overall diet/gut health in addition to any supplements you're interested in trying.

If that helps your other symptoms, awesome. If not, then at least your body has a solid nutritional foundation for you to start tackling those issues from other angles.

I haven't done much research on it, I just have a reliable friend of my dad's telling me that he takes DE and keybiotics and he thinks it will help me. I've read three or four different pages online and they all mention the symptoms I posted. Here is one of those pages:

Lower High Blood Pressure
Of the thousands of people that are using Diatomaceous Earth, most that have high blood pressure have reported that it has gone down. It has been so thrilling to talk to people all over the United States and have them tell their stories. We are not just talking a few points - we are talking about LIFE-CHANGING numbers. Doctors are amazed--customers are amazed. You will be, too.

Lower High Cholesterol
According to consumers, just as Diatomaceous Earth health benefits include lowering blood pressure, it has also been lowering cholesterol! We have not talked with one person that has high cholesterol that has not had lower numbers after taking Diatomaceous Earth. Most are reporting 40-60 points lower after only 2 weeks on DE. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it works!

Osteoporosis, Joints & Calcium
Osteoporosis is a symptom of the aging process. As calcium in our body system depletes, our bones become brittle and weak. Taking only a calcium supplement cannot correct or stop this threatening and crippling disease because the body cannot assimilate and make use of the calcium without the presence of silica. Evidence suggests that, instead of affecting healing, supplemental mineral calcium, on the contrary, accelerates the leaching away of bone calcium and thus hastens the degenerative process of osteoporosis and similar diseases that affect the supportive and connective tissues in the human body. The Silica found in Diatomaceous Earth enhances calcium absorbtion.

For Osteoporosis
Silica can stop the pain and even restore the body's self repair process. Osteoporosis symptoms attack women primarily after menopause but the degenerative process starts much earlier in their younger days. More women are dying of fractures caused by osteoporosis than of cancer of the breast, cervix, and uterus combined.Silica is responsible for the depositing of minerals into the bones, especially calcium. It speeds up the healing of fractures and also reduces scarring at the site of a fracture. More and more research evidence shows that through a transmutation process, silica is turned into calcium when it is needed. That is why some scientists refer to silica as a precursor of calcium. Even when calcium is insufficient, the body can turn silica into calcium that the bones need.

Natural Weight Loss
We have been getting hundreds of reports from all over the United States that DE is helping people lose weight. Everyone is saying that DE taken in the morning helps curb their appetite throughout the day. Just one more reason to take it everyday!

Detox Your Body
Diatomaceous Earth health benefits reported to inlude detox! According to Kaayla T. Daniel, PhD, CCN and Galen D. Knight, PhD in their article "Mad as a Hatter" there is no better product to detox HEAVY METALS and RADIATION from your body than with Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth!

Nature's Internal Cosmetic
In Europe and Asia, Diatomaceous Earth health benefits are widely recognized to include use as a health and beauty product for hair, skin, nails, bones, and joints. They have no FDA.

Tissue Degeneration
Accelerates due to aging when connective tissue develops an increasing inability to retain moisture when left unassisted. Silica can help slow the degenerative process of connective tissue. With silica, vitality and life, which are often lost as the years accumulate, can be naturally maintained or even restored to your skin. Collagen, largely made up of silica, is the glue that holds us together. If our body has enough silica glucosaminoglycane, the collagen will make us look younger. Silica helps with skin problems and injuries including itching, rashes, abscesses, boils, acne, callouses, warts, eczemas, burns, frostbite, benign skin sores, insect bites and bed sores. If you regularly follow a silica regimen, your skin will keep its youthful look. A good silica supplementation program works far better than other products for maintaining healthier and longer lasting collagen.

Hair That Grows
Hair is nature's greatest beauty enhancer. Hair deserves to be pampered. Hair at 90 micrograms per gram is almost as rich in silica as are healthy bones, which contain 100 micrograms per gram. Silica is a major component of hair. Using a good silica supplement should be part of your ongoing hair care program for revitalizing hair. Silica helps to prevent baldness, stimulates healthier hair growth and assures beautiful shine, luster and strength.

Teeth and Gums
By hardening the enamel, silica prevents cavities and preserves teeth. Silica also prevents bleeding gums, gum atrophy, and recession that causes the loosening of teeth, which could ultimately lead to tooth loss. Silica effectively fights ulceration and the decay of bones and teeth and also lessens inflammation.

Tough As Nails
Your nail plates are complex protein structures that grow four to five millimeters per month on average. With silica supplementation, fragile nails become normal within a short period of time. Silica will beautify the appearance of your nails and improve their hardness, making them shinier and less prone to breaking.

Restorative Effects Of Silica
This will be most noticeable on your hair, skin, nails and teeth. Our skin and hair require silica essentially for the same purpose as do other tissues. As we know, the supporting collagen underneath the skin enhances elasticity and beauty. Collagen owes that quality to silica, which provides a beautiful complexion that is more than skin deep.

More Reported Benefits Of Diatomaceous Earth

Silica lowers bad cholesterol and raises good
Silica fades age spots
Silica stimulates metabolism for higher energy levels
Diatomaceous Earth has a negative charge and bacteria has a positive charge. It is believed that Diatomaceous Earth sweeps bacteria out of the body by trapping it in its honeycomb shaped skeletal form.
Silica supplementation helps repair and maintain vital lung tissue and protects them from pollution. By maintaining or restoring the elasticity of lung tissue, silica reduces inflammation in bronchitis.
It acts as a cough decreasing agent. Silica tones the upper respiratory tract (nose, pharynx, larynx) and reduces swelling because of its positive action on the lymphatic system.
Silica supplementation keeps menopause free of stress and helps to prevent many unwanted side effects of menopause
Silica works with other antioxidants to prevent premature aging and to preserve youthfulness.
Silica can help prevent kidney stones and heal infections of the urinary tract. It is a natural diuretic which can increase excretion of urine by 30 percent, thus flushing the water-excreting system and restoring normal function to these vital organs.
The presence of sufficient silica in the intestines will reduce inflammation of the intestinal tract. It can cause disinfection in the case of stomach and intestinal mucus and ulcers. Silica can prevent or clear up diarrhea and its opposite, constipation.
Silica will help normalize hemorrhoidal tissues.
In regulating and normalizing the bowels, silica has a pleasant side effect; it can alleviate lower back pain, which often troubles the elderly.
Silica proves effective with female discharge, abscesses and ulcers in the genital area and cervix, as well as mastitis (especially for breast feeding mothers).
The intake of silica acts as a supportive treatment for inflammation of the middle ear. Because of the beneficial effectiveness on the lymphatic system, silica can be used for swelling of the lymph nodes in the throat.
Has anti-inflammatory and odor binding effects.
Silica can normalize circulation and regulate high blood pressure (hypertension).
Silica can decrease vertigo, headache, tinnitus (buzzing of the ears) and insomnia.
Silica can help diabetes by promoting synthesis of elastase inhibitor by the pancreas.
Silica can help arterial disease by strengthening the blood vessels. Studies confirm that with age, silica disappears from the aorta, the heart's key blood vessel, thus weakening its critical connective tissue and resulting in a greater cardiac risk.
Silica can help prevent Tuberculosis.
By improving the elasticity of the joints, silica helps rheumatism.
Silica has inhibitory effects on coronary diseases.
Silica can help avoiding or alleviating Alzheimer's disease by preventing the body from absorbing aluminum and may flush out aluminum from the tissues. Silica can stimulate the immune system.
And here are some things that keybiotics can help:

Product Benefits
Many studies have been conducted on the importance of probiotics, and have found that a balanced gut helps with:

Constipation
Gas/Bloating/Indigestion
Antibiotic-Associated Diarrhea
Weight Gain/Obesity
Fatigue/Energy Levels
Immune System
Skin Problems
Brain Fog
And in my post I stated that I wasn't planning on taking either of them for weight loss. I was saying it would be a nice side effect if anything.

I'm not seeing how you don't think they will help any of my symptoms? Maybe I'm missing something. Like I said, I haven't done much research besides looking at a few pages online. Which is why I'm posting here looking for reviews from people who have taken it and what it helped them with.

Also, thanks for all the replies! I hope my other post didn't sound rude. I appreciate the responses.

Thank you! I take medicine that acts as a blood pressure medicine but is also for migraines. I will have to see if it will affect anything.

I do grind/clench my teeth a lot. I've been wanting to try a mouth guard but haven't yet. I'm supposed to be getting some X-rays done at the dentist soon, also.
