Hi,
Three days ago my Dad's baby girl, Elle, broke her nail. It's the one on her right paw; her pinkie. She has broken nails before, digging and such. In the past when it has happened it has been sore for a day at most. This time though she is limping so badly and I can see the pain in her face. If anyone knows what I can do to help her it would be greatly appreciated. She is so uncomfortable.

Thanks for any help and advice you can offer.

May you be happy and well,
Jessie

Eeks, looks painful :( I'm of no help in this area but hope she feels better soon! I think if she is limping really badly whenever she puts pressure on that paw, as a temporary solution, I'd just wrap it up with bandage or something. Until you figure out what to do.

i really have no idea what im talking about but..
i copied this from some site:
"When your dog breaks a nail you can help to alleviate the pain a bit by putting her paw inside warm water and then very carefully removing the pieces of broken and splintered nails"

althou it doesent look like the nail is like splintering.. well iuno XD

that's what I was thinking...take her to the vet. I mean, if she's in such obvious pain she needs some medical treatment.

There is most likely a small infection present, similar to what you would get in a hang-nail or split cuticle. You can try to dull the pain with ice or dermoplast spray, then use peroxide or bactine to disinfect the area. You can then apply antibacterial ointment and wrap the paw, but be sure to change the dressing at least daily.

Well here is a silly home remedy, that works for nail pain. Hold the paw in cold black brewed coffee for a few minutes. The caffine in it kills pain and works as an antiseptic, but you'll still need to address any infection with medical treatment.
