Here's my little mixed baby, Chyna. I never knew people actually bred these two mixes on purpose so was a little surprised to find out she has a "designer" name. Pug/Rat Terrier = Puggat.

When she was a baby...

All growed up...

Sorry the pics are so huge!

Everyones fur babies are just beautiful. :)

a mixed breed is the same as a designer dog. the only difference is that some mixed breeds have more than 2 purebred parents like designer dogs do. just rescue a dog from a shelter/HS instead of buying one from a "breeder".
I think you've missed my point! :(

let's just agree to disagree. :)
you think i'm missing your point, and i think you're missing my point. at this rate we'd go on forever and a day.
this thread was originally created by someone else to show pics of mixes. so let's get back to the original topic and have more pics posted.

She does look really "Puggy" in that grown up pic but her face isn't squashed in like a pug and she has really long "spider legs". :)
She sure sheds like a pug, though!
Thanks! I think she's beautiful too. :D

Oh! I guess I have one of those!

At best guess, Cannelle's a Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier X. The rescue was told that she was originally purchased as a Maltese/Chihuahua X (Maltihuahua? Haha, say that five times fast!), but most people don't see any Chihuahua in her.

I absolutely love her ears, especially in this picture!
Oh my gosh, she is soooo adorable. :)

Charlie was found in a puppy mill, he was going to be sold at 6 weeks as a "bichonoodle". So technically, hes a designer dog. But the reason Many people dont post designer dogs is because of this reason, most of them are bought from places that were about to sell charlie.
Now, heres a pic:

youngr - don't get me wrong I think your dog is very cute. It just looks odd seeing beagley ears and nose on a puggy face. She's definitely unique.:)

I LOATHE the term designer dog , the correct term is cross breed or mixed breed if you're not sure from whence it came . Truth be told , Princess Charlotte my maltese x shih tzu is a designer dog - her wardrobe of clothes is HUGE !!! Sarah

probably don't see pics because most don't believe in mixing two purebreeds to make a mixed breed "designer dog".
i like mutts as much as anyone else, but i sure wouldn't sell one for hundreds or thousands of dollars like some people are doing...and claiming they are their own breed....registered, etc.
sorry, but i don't agree with designer dogs when you can get one from a shelter...both are mutts, at least until designer dogs are recognized as being specific breeds and registerable as a breed.
I do think you have a very cute poodle mix though. :)

I agree sooo much, I like mutts, I'm not completely sure of my border collies parentage as he was found under a truck, so obviously not a dog snob. However I sincerely thing "designer dogs" are a trick someone played when a dog jumped the fence. They give it a cutesy name, and sell it for the same or more then its purebred ancestors are going for... I almost blame it on the backyard breeders, as they have the least control over what their dogs are fooling around with...
