I had to go to another bad accident today. This time their were two bodies in the car. I got there early so they weren't covered and a third victim had to be removed using the jaws of life. She had a strong pulse so hopefully she made it. The driver of the other car was someone I knew. I think he's going to be ok even though he was bleeding from the neck. And to make things even worse this was my highway that I drive home on. :( It's just so scary. It could happen to anyone. Slow down and drive carefully! Even if you drive a hummer and think you are safe you could still put someone else in the ditch.

Well I talked to our staff sgt today and found out a bit more. Too make things worse the girls were younger than I thought. 15, 16 and 17. The 15year-old is the one that lived. They were all wearing seatbelts and heading into town from another nearby town. I haven't found out yet why they were going there or where they were going. Chances are they were driving too fast and lost control of their car on the ice road. They spun into the oncoming traffic and were t-boned by the other car. It's sooo sad. Everyone drives too fast for these icy roads though. :( The speed limit is still too fast. I drove home last night at 60 (the speed limit is 100) and was still sliding around at times. The driver of the other car is ok and was kept overnight for observation. He's my neighbour so I might bring him a basket of something. I'll give him a few days though. I bet he's pretty shook up. Nothing he could do really but even just to be involved is traumatizing. Poor girls. So many lives turned upside down. Drive carefully people!
