i've never seen any interviews of her like that. From what I've seen of her she's incredibly intelligent. She supposedly doesn't drink much or do drugs, isn't really a "party girl", I know she was an incredibly good student in high school before (I believe) dropping out to do music, and was going to major in religious studies at Brandeis. Personally, I think she's exploiting American culture's stupidity for her own benefit, and that's perfectly admirable to me.

She dropped out to get her GED, and if you can find a citation that doesn't come from her claiming she was studious for those grades I'll believe you.

She can write a super catchy tune and entertaining lyrics, but intelligence is something I'm unwilling to admit she has until I see evidence of it.

About the not drinking thing, by the way, she's admitted in many interviews that she parties a lot, drinks a lot, and has a very high alcohol tolerance. Add that to the fact that half her songs are about whiskey, and it makes me wonder where on earth you read that she doesn't drink.
