Does Petsmart sell any decent dog food? What about treats? I ask because it is so close and it would be nice if I could just run over there and grab something for them every once in a while. I feed them Innova normally but they won't eat Innova treats.

I have looked all through petsmart, and we feed Diamond Naturals which, from best I can remember has better ingredients than what petsmart has. Petsmart dosn't carry Innova, TOTW, etc....... that I have seen. They carry Purina, Eukanuba, Pedigree, their own brand and so on.

Petsmart sells Blue Buffalo food, which got 4 stars on dogfoodanalysis.com

Not stellar, but it looks to be the best they have. If you have a Petco nearby, they sell Wellness and Solid Gold.

I forgot about them having Blue Buffalo. It is supposed to be decent, but we tried it a while back and our dogs weren't to wild about it. I got one of the formulas for the cats saturday(the ocean wild one or something) and they seem to like it.

The Blue Buffalo Wilderness is actually pretty good. It's overpriced, though

I think they also have Wellness CORE (grain free), regular and fish varieties (I know Petco does, but I think Petsmart does, too). Their fish canned variety is practically the only commercial food that doesn't have something B shouldn't eat.

I'm sure they also have freeze dried treats, especially liver. And bully sticks (overpriced). That's about all I can find for treats for Bales, but he doesn't get any grains or poultry.

Whoops, sorry if my post wasn't relevant.

Yeah, I believe Blue Buff is the only food there worth anything.

As for treats, they have Mother Hubbard and I believe Newman's Own as well (they used to have Newman's, at least.) Charlee Bears is another one, I love those. Pet Botanics are decent - you can get the food rolls and slice it up into small pieces.
Their website has the Starmark Every Flavour Treats listed but mine doesn't carry those; if yours does I absolutely recommend them.

Those are the only "bad" treats (i.e. that have ingredients he shouldn't have) Bailey gets. I put them in the treat ball thing and he has a blast!

The best they carry is Blue Buffalo. They also carry the new Blue "Longevity", Nutro (including Ultra...) Nature's recipe, AvoDerm... Nothing better than that.

the blue longetivity I just bought for our cats, and they don't seem to real wild about it. I may not buy it again.

We are feeding our pup Nutro Naturals Choice which we got a petsmart but are considering a switch. Has anyone try Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul - we are going to be getting some samples and wanted to see if anyone has had luck with that food before.

I have never fed it, but I would like to try it for our Puppy, Aussie. I have heard a lot of good about it.

Thanks! Do let me know how yours likes it. I found a dealer I can get it from not to far from the house, so I'm ready! I have about nother two weeks of the present food left so I will be able to switch over easy.

Do they make "By Nature" for dogs? I feed that to my cat but haven't seen it for dogs....

Those Starmark Every Flavor Treats are my favorite treats, I haven't met a dog whose turned them down!

We have started transitioning our pup onto Chicken Soup and she really seems to enjoy it. If all goes well she will be on it completely by next week. Have you decided to switch yet?

I would rather order food or make a long trip than buy anything from Petsmart... Blue is insanely over-priced, and they don't offer anything close to grain free. Blue "Wilderness" is made to seem grain free but it isn't AT ALL! You will probably be compensated for gas and a drive just from the savings.

Petco has much better options if you have one nearby. Natual Balance is good quality and very affordable, and Solid Gold/Wellness are both good foods that offer grain-free formulas. ;)
