Well I know everyones mixed opinions on outdoor dog parks so I decided to hit a local one with a friend and her dog around midnoon on tesuday when it would be less busy to judge whether or not I wanted to take him their often. We approached the park with Duke and Gypsy (Duke's best dog friend) and saw 4 dogs and their owners inside.

We decided to wait outside and judge how the dogs where behaving and after observing them for 5 mins or so and seeing no aggressive signs between dogs we went in on-lead just incase we needed to leave. The one very fat chocolate lab ran over to greet us and Duke and Gypsy went over to smell him, after formatlities were done they began to run off to meet the other dogs which included a springer spaniel, jack russel and golden retriever.

The lady was throwing a tennis ball for the retriever so of course that ment 6 dogs chasing after it.

Duke, who is generally unintrested in playing with other dogs besides Gypsy which took him a good solid month to warm up to was actually having alot of fun running around with the other dogs, he didn't play with them to much he more just wanted to follow around the largest number of dogs to sort of fit in lol.

A lady then approached with one small 30 pound dog and one gorgous husky and entered the park. The little 30 lb one ran over immediatly and Duke and him hit it off very well and started to chase each other around while the husky moved very slowly and stayed next to the owner. She came over and asked if that was a digital camera (because we needed to document their first outdoor dog park vist). We said yes and she asked if we would mind taking pictures of her Huksy, Chinnok and sending the pics to her as he has recently been diagnosed with cancer and later on that day was being PTS. I felt terrible as we just lost our boxer a few months ago and remember the day we had to bring her in. We said of course no problem and after taking a few she started to jog with the old guy as she said this was his favourite place:( .

Anyhow here are the pics

I love the Jack Russell! It might be because I own one. They have such cool dogallities. (I realized personalities applied to people. Dogallities seemed like a much better fit.)

Nice pictures. Sad to hear that about the Husky..... I have had Smokey in the dog park next to my house for the last couple of days and we have managed to find some fun dogs for her to play with that are friendly and have good owners. It's really nice when you can get a small circle of dogs that you know that you can trust and that like playing with your dog. The dogs have a blast and get some great exercise. I never realized how fast Smokey can run, until I saw her playing tag around the park with the other dogs....

Nice pics! We have a dog park very close also and both out boys LOVE it there.
There are rules at ours that you have to keep moving (as to not have the dogs get territorial) and no leads...that kinda thing.
Alot of people are against them, but I find they are great for exercise.
