My car title, plates, registration is all out of Arizona. We just got the title back for it today because it needed to be switched out of my ex husbands name. My plates expired back in May so I paid them, while still under his name. The title couldn't be found at the time to switch it over then, so it was either drive on expired plates or suck up the $130.
Well since Arizona lets the previous owner keep the plates, my ex just got $130 I paid for my tags this year and I have to pay another $130 for new plates when the title is changed over. UGH! Colorado plates are just as expensive and it's not going to matter either way, I'm still stuck with it, while they'll refund the money to my ex, who I'm not exactly sure is going to give it back because as far as they are concerned, it is his, even though it was paid out of my personal checking account.
