Dakota got hit by a car...

Dakota got hit by a car at about 6:30... it was just a car backing out of his driveway... and he fractured his leg... He is now in a doggie wheel chair and crying himself to sleep...

Yes he will be fine as the car wasn't going that fast but if anything positive comes out of this it will be don't run away from Mommy when she is coming through the door.

Yes he will be getting tonnes of hugs and love, the good thing is that nothing is broken he just needs to keep this wheelchair on when I am home and he needs to be seperated from other dogs, now I don't know how he will react to the sleeping situation, but... the vet says that he only needs the wheelchair until December 21st so just before Christmas.

Oh Sirius, I am so sorry for you and Dakota, Hopefully everything will mend ok. Poor baby. I hate that happened, but maybe, no more car incidents after this. Listen to mommy!!!

The doctor said that it just damaged the bone a little bit. I don't know if it was a green fracture but it isn't that bad.

It can be a small crack or a dent in the bone....

Now that we know Dakotah's going to be okay, how are you doing? You must have been frantic!

Oh, Renee, you have no idea. I was getting in from shopping and Sam and Harley and Dakota AND Darwin all came to greet me at once! Well I had about 50 shopping bags in my hands so I didn't notice Dakota slip out. So I get inside, Harley starts chasing Darwin so he runs to the kitty room, then I wonder where is Dakota? So I see him just trotting down the sidewalk and so I am like, DAKOTA COME HERE! And I start to run after him, so then it happned. The people were very understanding as they have an Alaskan Malamute and they offered to pay for his vet bills, but I told them that it was ok I should have been more careful. They really wanted to pay though, so they payed for half.
