Cruciate Surgery Info Please

Has anyone with a large breed dog have experience with cruciate ligament surgery? Bodi has torn his and is going in on Tuesday for a Tibial Bone Grafting surgery to repair it. This is supposedly a better fix for larger breed dogs than the typical suture surgery.

Has any of your dogs had this type of surgery and did they injure the good knee in the recovery process? I am so afraid of a nine week recovery only to find that Bodi has torn his other cruciate, which is common I hear.

my dog is only a medium-sized beastie so i chose the traditional suture repair for her. recovery was a pain in the neck, but not as bad as i thought. she has a partial tear of her second one that will need to be repaired soon as well

i'd highly suggest joining the yahoo group orthodogs. lots of helpful information and helpful people with all sorts of experience.
