You had your dog dewormed, not wormed. No one gives dogs worms on purpose
While yes, the technically correct term is deworming, I don't think I EVER heard that used in the horse world until I got into college equine classes. We actually used to joke that you could tell who had learned about horses in the real world and who had in college based on whether they called it 'worming' or 'deworming'. I still say that I have to worm my horse, or I go to the feed store to pick up wormer.
