Considering the low quality of some shelters when it comes to evaluations, anything could get through some places. But assuming it was a good shelter, my dog would be okay. She's loving and affectionate, and has no aggression problems. She'd be better with someone who had a little experience with dogs, as she's pushy and needs to be squashed regularly.

I doubt Oakley would be able to...

He doesnt like strangers touching his feet, and he snarls and lunges at you really fast if you do something that pisses him off. Luckily he has a crazy bite inhibition, but i dont think the shelter would see it that way...cause who knows when he will actually bite.

His unpredictable nature is why we had to spend 1000s on training, and why he wears a shock collar.

Ilsa would make it out, Ronin wouldn't - even in breed rescue, I'm afraid. The most common reason given by potential adopters to "return" a dog to Dobe rescue is usually "any aggression of any kind".

Ronin is a fiery dog when it comes to protecting his momma... he's the scariest aggressive dog I've ever seen when it really counts. He's also dog aggressive and extremely prey driven. Not many homes are right for him - despite the fact that he's a wonderful Doberman with a heart of gold and is the most affectionate and sweet dog I've ever met.

i think it is an owners responsibility to make sure that their dog could be that way if anything does happen to the owner, they have given their dog the best chanace of survival. Yes mary and Vic would both be adoptable. What i would worry about most is the emotional stress, i don't know how either would react that way. Vic wouldn't eat or sleep in the beginning when i adopted him.

I'd be worried about the emotional stress on Sawyer...I think. He sure didn't miss me the week he stayed at Grammy's without me!

Roxy- I'm pretty sure they would euthanize her on site. With the stresses of being in a shelter and with strangers around her, she would 100% bite someone, and be put down.

There's not a doubt in my mind. She has too many quirks and when coupled with her no fear/hesitation for snarling/snapping... The story would not be good.

Hades- He would probably die of a heart attack in a shelter first off, but I'm pretty sure that even some people who are deathly afraid of pitbulls would take interest in him. He most definitely would NOT stay at any shelter long.

He could pretty much go to any home that loves him, dogs/cats/kids whatever.

If the proper time is taken to introduce him to another dog or cat, he would get along just fine, and he absolutely adores children.

That's what I would be afriad with Lizzie too :( Being in a shelter, with strangers and tons of dogs barking constantly, she would either not let ANY one come near her from being so afriad or she would just completly shut down :(

Tempermentally, both of mine would be OK. However, due to Lilly's age (almost 11), and her cancer, she might be put down.
Radar would shrivel up in a shelter unless he were adopted quickly. He is an incredibly clingly little guy and shelter living would just destroy him.

i didn't even think of sylvie's reaction to the shelter itself. she would go postal. you should see her in the pet store... she just shakes like crazy and tries to hide under me. add that to her known past of biting while leashed... she's even afraid of the bathroom. haven't quite figured out why, though. not good.
however, if she was fostered instead, she would be perfectly fine. she merrily went home with me and waltzed right into our house and made herself at home.

Ruckus would be put down. he has some dog agression, and he is very shy and timid. with so much noise and strangers i just know he will bite. and if he didnt bite, no one could ever pet him.

Hershey in a breed rescue, would probably get out of there, they would work with him on his collar problem, and everything! And he is as sweet as can be, he loves everyone!
