We hit the road friday, for a 3 hour drive north. to a family cottage, both dogs in tow. Blaze has been a few times. this was solos first trip any where outside our general area lol.
I just have to say, both dogs were amazing. Solo being a typical beagle, had to be tied up, but I used a 30 foot line for that. He was only offleash when swimming, or when we all could watch him. Blaze who listens, was able to run all day long out int he woods. i didnt have a worry, as he will come as soon as he is called.
Neither have been raised with children, but Ryans cousin has a 2 year old boy. And both were AMAZING with him. So gentle and sweet. let him do what they wanted to him. Ofcourse we didnt encourage pulling on them. but being a child he is quick. both tolerated him well. and loved all the free food he handed out to them all day long lol.
i wish i had the camera out when we first got there. We let the dogs out, with in 2 mins they both were in the lake, then I see solo out in the lake, swimming after 2 loons. my boyfriend freaks out, strips to his underwear and runs in after his dog. Lucky solo turned around and came back, and earned his tie out lol
Solo became BFFS with the next door neighboors mini poodle/ lab cross (mini doodle. gag)
If blaze wasnt int he woods. he was in the water.
Digging for rocks. which was a terrible idea. now ALL four of his feet are shredded thanks to zebra mussles in the water. this lake never used to have them, so i never thought of it. i wish i did. now he is all bandaged up at home lol
