Confused about Canidae problems

I've been reading here about people having problems with the "new" Canidae, and at first, I'll admit, when I heard they're changing the formula and having Diamond make it for them, I wasn't too happy.

However, I have yet to see any of the new formula available at any of the 5 stores that I can buy it from locally, and even their website says "coming soon." With all the people here having problems with it, I'm wondering where they're actually getting it? I'm actually interested in trying it, just to see how my Rottie likes it, but my main local supplier says they've been told it could be a few months before it's actually out in the general market, and for now, they're getting the same old Canidae, and it has current dating on the packaging.

Is anyone willing to send me a sample? Canidae has told me it's not available yet, and I'm really curious since people here have been buying it long enough to not like it, I'd like to try it, I can't see Canidae ruining their reputation, and I'm over my knee-jerk reaction.

My store is slowly getting the new formula from our distributor now (like this week - half the stuff we ordered was old, and some was new). They still have to use up what's available in the old formula before they bring out the new one.

So perhaps the places that already have it have a higher turnaround (and a distributor with a higher turnaround).

The store I buy dog food at has the new stuff already. The bags are a little bit darker in color. They said they are already getting complaints about it too.

I didn't notice a big difference in the bag, to be honest. But as soon as I opened the bag it was really obvious. The pieces are bigger, but lighter, and lighter color brown.
