Confused about an article I read on what age to take home puppy-help!

There is truth behind this, but I believe that any quality breeder has been socializing their pups extensively and introducing them to new sights and smells constantly, which helps them to become more "bomb proof".

One thing I kept getting out of this article was the ones kept until 8 weeks or so seemed to have been kept in semi-isolation for the purpose of the study and not necessarily socialized properly.

The 8th week is supposed to be the fearful week and in some breeds an unpleasant experience during this week can be etched in stone. I placed mine the closest weekend to their 8th week ...if the timing was wrong it was after the 8th week. Six weeks is too young in my book. Anyone who has " How To Raise A Puppy You Can Live With " ( Rutherford and Neil ) Can read how important those weeks are in development .

I highly recommend it...very cheap used on Amazon....I've gone through 3 editions and all my puppy owners bought it.....several here too ! It is a MUST for anyone breeding or plan to get a pup from a breeder. Tells you what to look for and testing.
