Since I`m new here and especially since I`m Austrian I`d like to know which (english) commands you use .. I know the common ones like SIT, DOWN, HEEL, FETCH IT, FREE .. they are even used in Germany, Austria and Switzerland although they also exist in German.

But what I`m wondering is what you use to tell your dog to take a pee/poo, to go into this bed/cage/crate, to start barking, not to pull the leash .. this might sound stupid but I`m sure that as we do in german you try to keep your commands as short as possible to make it easier for the dog to understand .. and you might have your own special commands (that only your dog understands;) ).

Neither of my dogs have a command for peeing/pooping, but I think a common one would be "go potty!"

To go into the crate, I use "kennel up" and Lucy will walk right in it. It's been years since we've had to crate Molly, but she still knows what the kennel is!

Never taught my dogs to bark...they're just annoying and do it on their own. :D And neither of them pull on the leash so there's no command I use, but I think that's what "heel" would be.

So yes...command words are kept pretty short :)

what you use to tell your dog to take a pee/poo?- Go Potty

to go into this bed/cage/crate- Crate

to start barking- Talk to me

not to pull the leash- Easy

He also knows "circle" (spin in a circle), sit, lay down, roll over, and shake. He also understands "Go get your toys".

Mojo doesn't know as much as other dogs here but our most common ones are:
Sit
Down
Off (furniture/me)
Paw (to shake hands)
Crawl
Crate! (to kennel up)
Outside (time to go for a walk!)
Over (go over to the public grass and off the sidewalk)

Edited to add: I don't like it when Mojo barks a lot so I've not allowed him to bark more than once or twice when he alerts to something. My command to get him to STOP barking or to STOP being excited is "ENOUGH!"

Oh and if I want him to be less rough when we play I tell him "Gentle" which means his playing becomes less in your face.

Go pee/poop- "Go pee/Go poo" (while pointing in where I want them to do it)

Crate (Hades only)- "Kennel!"

to start barking- "Speak!" with Roxy, or "Who's there?"

to not pull on the leash- "Heel"

Other commands I use everyday:

Sit
Down
Drop it/Leave it
Wait
Come

And that's all I can think of right now :D

Thank`s a lot so far .. u have no idea how much this helps since I try to teach my 3-year-old english. Although she understands most of what I say she prefers to answer in german .. so I`ve started to give Shadow`s commands in english since she loves to repeat whatever I say to him .. and it works - and now I can add a few more.. so THANK YOU ..

Since I`m new here and especially since I`m Austrian I`d like to know which (english) commands you use .. I know the common ones like SIT, DOWN, HEEL, FETCH IT, FREE .. they are even used in Germany, Austria and Switzerland although they also exist in German.
Riot basic commands are;
Sit
Drop(instead of down, Down is his word for getting down from something)
Off (meaning leave something, wether it be another dog, food, a toy, a person etc etc)
With Me (his heel command)
Bring (Go and "fetch" an item)
Go Play (is his release command)

But what I`m wondering is what you use to tell your dog to take a pee/poo, to go into this bed/cage/crate, to start barking, not to pull the leash .. this might sound stupid but I`m sure that as we do in german you try to keep your commands as short as possible to make it easier for the dog to understand .. and you might have your own special commands (that only your dog understands;) ).
Riots commands for those are;
Outside (to go pee or poop)
Kennel (for his crate)
He doesn't know how to bark on command yet
Get Back(is to not pull on the leash, he knows that means to get back into position)
Or sometimes I'll use Swing (his going back into position command).

He knows many many others, but those are his basics lol

Millie knows way more than Lucy so far.

Some of Millie's commands:

SIT
LIE DOWN
CRAWL
"LEFT" PAW
"RIGHT" PAW
ROLL OVER
DROP IT
PICK IT UP
TURN
JUMP
UP
HEEL
COME
SLOWLY
STOP
OKAY(RELEASE)
"GO GET YOUR LEASH!"
"WANNA GO FOR A WALK?"
"WANT A TREAT?"
"GET BACK!" (TO STEP BACK AT THE DOOR AND STAY)

For Lucy to go in her crate, I say, "Night night, Luce!" To go poo/pee I say "go outside!" For them to stop pulling I say, "No pull!" and then praise for stopping.
Neither of them has been taught to bark on command yet, but I plan on using "Speak!" :)

Thanks again ..

What I`m wondering now is if most of your dogs sleep in crates/kennels .. (since I haven`t found any "off to bed"-commands) here kennels are used to get a puppy "toilet-trained" and avoid for him to destroy the house while he`s alone .. but only few people use those kennels and if they do only during the first months ..

Or is "crate/kennel" just a common expression for the dog`s bed ...

Shadow (6.5 months old) has a kennel (a cage actually) but it`s only used to chew on raw bones .. during the night or when he`s alone he sleeps in his bed or on the floor ..

Here is the list of commands we use. We use both verbal and hand gesture commands.

Sit
Stay
come as it means
Fetch
Play dead - The roll on their side
leave
it's safe -if someone comes in, they will be very aloof, it's safe settle's them down.
Pavement -walk on pavement
swim

to put them in hunting mode, we have a sound (hard to describe) to put them in hunting mode and then say Ducks/rabbits/squizzie etc... -in which they will chase after
They will not chase anything until they hear this sound, so when we are out and about and they see wildlife, they will not automatically chase.

Patrol - they run around the boundries
Rock -means attack (they have been attack trained)
do bits - means go do your poo's etc..
Pillow - go to your bed.
car -jump in car
chow -We put thier bowls down and make them sit for about 2 minutes and then say chow.
walkies and food is their favoutite command.:D

Hades goes to his kennel for time-outs, if we're going out and I think he's in the mood to destroy stuff, or just to chill out. Hades kennel, is his bed downstairs.

When we actually go to bed, they both have beds in my room. And when I head upstairs I just say "IT's time to go to bed!", and they go upstairs and go in their beds. :)
