I have a B.S. in Exerice Science which is a pre-Physical Therapy degree. With that degree & passing the national & state certification, I am a licensed Exercise Physiologist. I also wracked up 16 hours towards a Master's in Exercise Science at the same college. However, I hated that job and went on to Physical Therapy school. After not even a month at LUS-New Orleans, I dropped out as it wasn't my calling and I just couldn't justify $80,000+ in debt to do a job I didn't want to do. (mind you this was no surprise and I had worked 2 years as a rehab tech at a large hospital aiding in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, & cardiac rehab and hard a short stint as a Phsiologist in cardiac rehab so I already was unhappy)
Soooo, I got a job at a local veterinary clinic and teamed up with 1 of the vets to do an on-the-job schooling & accreditation program for Veterinary Technology. So after a little more than a year, I got an Associate's degree and am now a certified/licensed Vet Tech. That degree I actually use and love.
But since the birth of Cole, I took off a full year and really couldn't go back as a part-time tech, so I took an easy administrative assistant position with my dad's environmental consulting firm (he's a Civil/Environmental Engineer and I had worked with him from the time I was 13-years-old). Now I'm doing an online AutoCAD course in which I will achieve certification in that upon completion of the final project.
But yet again, after the birth of this next child, I will resume my favorite job of all - being a stay-at-home mom.
