I met my new co-worker, she's a "breeder" or Rotties. T_T She breeds because she "likes puppies", but int eh same breath she said "The sooner they are gone the happier I'll be, I make them leave as soon as I can!" .....yeah, sounds like she really loves having puppies.
She has puppies out of her 5 year old bitch now and said the dogs had 4 litters already! She got her male and female from people who didn't want their dogs anymore, noen of her dogs are titled. They growl and back at people, but aren't aggressive.
They are healthy cause they go to their vet once annualy......yeah. I asked if she did health tests, she said "They go tot eh vet and he says they are healthy. The vet does farm anmals and everything too! Not just dogs and cats." she said the last part like it meant something great.
I asked if she did x-rays on hips or elbows, she said no, cause her dogs where fine and healthy. I told her there where genetic issues that may not show up at first especially since her dogs aren't from reputable people, she said her dogs where healthy and didn't have anything wrong. *smacks head*
I asked if she AT LEAST gave the puppies shots, contracts with the owners, or even a mandatory neuter contract. She said she got the puppies their first vaccines (good at least), didn't have the owners sign anything but some people she knew so stayed in contact. All of the people who bought puppies where WONDERFUL people according to her, like for example the guy that showed up at her house after seeing the sign she placed outside and saw a puppy and decided he wanted it. He was wonderful guy that wouldn't do anything to the dog apparently.
She said she didn't make the people neuter the dogs because she wants them too be able to have the "joy of puppies" as well. Oh and after I told her I volunteered at the humane society she said, "Oh I use to go there before I got my rotties, but I have no use for it anymore." .......wow...well thanks.
She's not the brightest bulb in the box that's for sure!
