Artificial....

OMG I couldn't imagine having a real tree with our two dogs lol. One of two things would happen (possibly both things would happen lol.)

1) I wouldn't be able to keep their noses out of it.... they would smell all the outdoorsy smells and be all up in the tree 24/7

and/or

2) Beezer would.... um.... "stake his claim" LOL

Nice tree's on here. Christopher and I went to the south mountain and chopped a huge tree in half and drug the top home.

I think it's pretty, Christopher and some friends of his from school put on the fixin's. How does it look? :yikes:

Here's another one ... everyone looks so sad here, I think the dogs know we're going away for a long time. I'll make another thread and show you some sad pix. It's funny dogs know this stuff. Christopher first trip out the country and he wanted to take Nemos, but he's not allowed. I feel bad.

Real! I don't think I could ever get a fake tree I like going and picking it out and I love the smell. Of course if I had pets who felt it necessary to destroy/climb or pee on it then I would need a fake but we've been lucky so far! We just bought ours yesterday but it won't be decorated until next week.

Fake... I'm too lazy to be cleaning pine needles up all day long, and I like having mine pre-lit.

Pics will come soon :D

I live in Florida, so our pine trees are imported from other states. By the time they get here, they are already near death and falling apart. So... we have a fake tree.

Here's a pic of my tree this year:

Fake. I agree with Renee. It seems wasteful to me to cut down trees to use for however many days and then dump it. The landscape here doesn't make a good place to replant it, either. They just don't grow right here. I love the piney smell, though.

You dont dump the tree, you recycle them. Remember growing juvenile trees produce more oxygen then mature trees do.

We always put up a fake tree. I don't want to remember to keep it watered, and I don't want pine needles everywhere.

I also wouldn't want Orson to decide NOW is the time to mark something, hahahahaha

I remember my friend a few years back had a fake tree and put that "pine scent spray" on it..........their big old husky came right over and marked the tree, decorations, and gifts as pretty as you please :D

When I got my house I bought a beautiful Blue Spruce tree. It was about 3ft and in a pot, but had no roots.

After chrimbo was done I planted it in the garden just too see if it would grow.

Well slap me with a tuna,......it bloody did, and now 12 years later it 8ft and looks and smells wonderful. Plus I have a Christmas tree all year round.

However after having real trees for a couple of years, and the needle dropping like tarts knickers, despite watering it,.................I have had a fake one for 8 yrs.

So its fake for me,...............................unless real ones come in black or white anyway lol lol

definitely real!!

I can understand in places where trees dont grow well why you wouldnt want real, but I live in MI, and its basically a farm for x-mas trees, haha.

I dunno why you guys are all talking about needles dropping...we've never had that issue?? We buy big, full, beautiful trees that smell wonderful, and last, and barely drop enough needles to even think twice about.

we dont really get one every year anymore, since we arent really home for x-mas (hmm, and we are Jewish, but hey, trees are pretty!)

I do have a fake one in my apt right now that my roomie brought...we obvs arent gonna get a real one for college.

we love the look and scent of real, but Dave is allergic. I also love to have my trees up right after Thanksgiving until a week after New Years. that's too long for a real tree, no matter how much you water. (last one...I had needles that I cleaned up for ages!) I already posted my pic, but here it is again. this is our retro tree. we have a little one upstairs in our bedroom, and a tiny one in the bay window. I love having just the Christmas lights on at night. :) I did play with this tree until the lights are now totally even. LOL
