This is Rajah. He is 3-5 months old (not sure, he has every one of his puppy teeth still) . I just adopted him a week ago.

any guess on what is in him besides chow chow? he is about 18 inches tall at the moment

thats what i thought. was german shepherd and chow chow.

he is such a happy friendly dog! he spooks a little easy, but he gets over it and wants to go investigate.

Some sort of retriever? or several breeds mixed in, as mixes aren't often just a cross of two purebreds? I'm not positive on genetics, but I'd think a cross of a Chow and GSD would have upright ears, since both of those breeds do.

He looks a lot like my cousin's GSD chow mix, Wicket. Wicket only had one standing up ear, and it was kind of wonky though his GSD parent's ears didn't stand up very well either.

    He's a cutie. :)

Something about the shape of his eyes and all around that area made me think GSD when I first looked. The ears not standing up wouldn't necessarily be an indication that he didn't have some GSD in him. Some GSDs even sometimes have a little difficulty getting the ears to be erect. So, if he could have some GSD in him. But he could also have other things that we don't even see. Genetics are a funny thing. Chances are he has several things all mixed in there. Whatever he is, he's adorable. As far as being a little spooky, just be sure to get him out in the world to be introduced to all kinds of people, dressed differently, all kinds of environments and things. Actively associate good things (like tasty tid bits of food) with the things you want him to be comfortable with later in life. It has to happen a lot right now and keep on with socializing forever so he'll be confident and well adjusted. It sounds like he has pretty good "bounce-back" where he gets right over the thing he spooked at and then goes to investigate. That's good.
Best of luck. Can't wait to see him as he grows. He's really, really fluffy and cute. Congrats!

I thought Golden/Chow, but I could also see GSD/Chow. Either way, freaking cute! ^^

i have been looking at pictures of chow/gsd and chow/goldens

right now i think it could be either! or all of the above.
he is very friendly and he loves sticks and to retrieve. not a chow trait thats for sure! a golden trait? but i know plenty of non retriever dogs that like to play fetch
