Just thought I would let everyone know....So that you all can go ahead and plan some entertainment for me, so that I wont be sitting here worrying all day...

I'm dropping her off at 8AM and the Dr. is going to talk to me about what all they will be doing and everything, and then they are going to call me when I need to pick her up...

Here is what all is going to be done...

Wellness Workup
X-rays- 2 film survey
ECG Lead II Rhythm Strip
Blood Pressure Diagnostic

Jess I know that I can tell you not to worry but I know you will anyway because you love her. I will be there for you if you need to talk. Hey I am positive Chloe is coming through this one. She is a trooper and has your love so it will be good. I am so glad that she has you to depend on. You are a good mommie to get her this quality of care. Not many do you know they ignore it or throw in the towel. You're the best. Hats off to you. Best wishes to you and Chloe. I will try to find some stuff to post to keep you laughing.

Jess, please don't worry. I didn't know that Chloe was having problems. What's up????
She has a heart murmur and she is going to have a few tests done...

Sorry  I should have made it clear in the first post that it was dealing with her heart murmur

Thanks, I've been keeping as positive as possible, but the nearer the date comes the more nervous I get...:)

Jess, why aren't they doing a Doppler ultrasound on her?

I would ask them why if they have not stated their reasons for the other tests.

Good question, Redyre. Ultrasound is what I have known to be used for cats to determine the cause and severity of murmur (with cats, it's more often than not cardiomyopathy), which in turn gives you the best idea as to how to treat. I don't know if it is the same with dogs, but I would imagine it is. Xrays usually don't yield much information, particularly if the vet determines that anesthesia/surgery is necessary for any reason in the future. But cats are particularly sensitive to anesthesia, more so than dogs I think. A cat lover's nightmare is anesthesia more so than the surgery.

Don't worry Jess. This information, once it's in will put you at ease, I'm quite sure. We'll be sure to entertain you in the meantime. LOL.

(((hugs)))

Best of luck for a good report, Jess. Many murmurs are completely innocent and harmless.

I was just wondering. There are inherited heart issues in Rotties, and whenever something abnormal is noted on an auscultation, the next step is a Doppler Ultrasound.

I would be interested in knowing why they recommended those other tests as well, just for my own personal info.

:D
