A co-worker of my fiance's has a young chihuahua that she wants to find a new home. She inherited the dog, and she is really not the right owner for this hyperactive fellow.

Long story short, I am afraid she will just take him to a local shelter and...that he won't be given a chance there. Anyone know of a "no-kill" place that would accept him?

Thanks!

I can only think of one rescue that I've heard of in CA...I'll look in my files tomorrow, see if I can find anymore...I really need to organize my "Reputable Rescues" database...it's currently floating around on loose leaf in a file cabinet...

Much Love Animal Rescue
All-Breed, Non-Profit, No-Kill, All-Volunteer, Foster/Boarding

Note: I've heard these guys are amazing...a woman who fosters for us-her sister lives in California, and adopted a dog from them, and spoke very highly...very organized...

I haven't heard of any specific Chi rescues in CA...

Thanks everyone! I passed these links on. I hope it helps her. I just want to make sure the little guy gets a safe place to take him in.

If I was living along, I would take him in myself, but he sounds like he may have some behavioral issues (like chewing, barking, and marking) and I don't think my roommates would be up for that challenge...
