A friend of a friend just got a chihuahua puppy. All I know is a) she's light brown, b) she's adorable and very friendly, and c) her people already dote on her. Oh, yes, and d) they're calling her Coco. That is ALL I know.

What kind of toys would be good for this little charmer? Might cat toys be appropriate? My friend wants to get her a Gotcha gift. What would you suggest?

I know mine aren't chihuahuas but I do use some cat toys on occasion although Mia is really pretty rough with them. her favorites are the kong x-small tennis balls that squeak. She also likes small stuffies and all sorts of toys. But you can't beat the kong tennis balls.

mine love the smallest of the akc toys...
come cat toys are ok (ie the balls) but anything with little peices of string/felt ect will be torn apart pretty quickly.

mine also love fleece ropes, its just some strips of fleece braided or knotted together...

the tiny puppy kongs also go well with mine :)

She would do ANYTHING for these and will drop any other toy for them too.

We got a few of the petstages toys but Beau demolished them pretty fast. Then again, they tend to do that with most toys lol.

Yeah she is hard on them but they're cheap thankfully. They only last a few weeks here before being completely de-fuzzed.

Mine LOVE the Petstages toys... the mini Orca is still one of Tucker's favorite toys, even though it was a teething toy for him.

We have pretty much every small toy that Petstages makes, and the chis love every single one of them.

I second this and the kong tennis balls. Kong also makes a couple of cat toys that resemble wubbas and Root loves them! They're easier for him to pick up.:p

Be happy you get a few weeks out of them.

Wash has them desqueeked within 2 mintues, and defuzzed within 20. I could buy a new pack everyday, but he's limited... he only gets a new pack every week(and the new ones come out only sunday as we use them to train with!).

Oh, and Wash says they MUST be the kong ones... they are the only acceptable tennis ball in creation apparently. :lol-sign:

Lucy likes Petstage toys, too. She loves to disembowel them. :D

She still has the mini easy toss ring from when she was a puppy, though, and she loves it so much she "gums it" and doesn't rip it up.

Kya likes the Dr. Noy's toys, but her favorite are toys big as her. So you might want to choose a variety. :)

Yeah I don't know why that is. I think they put crack in them. Mia refuses to use any other brand of ball.

She does de-squeak them a lot too but luckily it takes a while. She's not totally into demolishing toys (just my things) but rather batting them around with her paws and sticking them n every drawer and shelf she can find.
