hello, im new here. my two pups, Tango & Cash are huge chewers!! They are rottie, beagle and collie, mixes and they like to chew things up, not shoes or anything small, but the sofa and most recently the window sill!!! I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to deter them fron doing this. They are 4 months olld. I have tried the sour spray and they seem to like it!! HELP!

Thanks.

Number one, you MUST confine these puppies and supervise them so that they have NO OPPORTUNITIES to chew unapproved items.

Make a toy box or basket, and keep it stocked with interesting toys, such as kongs, mentioned above, and a variety of interesting toys, keeping some baited for several weeks as they are taught to go to the box for something to chew.

You MUST crate or otherwise confine these puppies so they don't chew inappropriately when you are not there or not looking.

These behaviors become ingrained QUICKLY, so prevention is of PARAMOUNT importance.

So is training class to exercise the mind. Find one, and get in it.

My dog loves those rope toys, and will chew them whenever she gets bored. You might try one of those.

I agree 100%. Supervision is needed just like with human children. Proper parenting.
