CharlieDog, here's a guy for you, Jerry Day. He's a member of my training club (Old South Hunting Retriever Club), a trainer and a super guy. We train monthly, usually at his place which is not far from Newnan. You don't say in Georgia where you're located.

I also know of another trainer in the Villa Rica area (west of Atlanta) though I've never dealt with her. Here's her website http://www.waterdogkennels.com/

You can PM me if you want more info, so as not to clog up this thread.

A recent addition, she told me her name the other day but of course I can't remember it  I think it might start with an A though...

Thank you THREADJACKERS.....for making me think there was alot more Chessie information in my thread LOL. (I'm glaring at YOU Dak, you're supposed to be my drinking buddy!):D

Agility sounds like fun someday :) Maybe Allie will be able to pick it up when she becomes "behaved" and "matured."

Her name is Enzo. She was *ahem* "inheireted" (I don't have spell check, so you all will have to put up with my atrocious spelling) from some family members who got a pup for all the wrong reasons.

Also, FCR, I actually live IN Newnan!

My friend had two Chessie littermates he brought into his house when he had an older Lab/Beagle mix. The pups and the older dog hit it off right away, and even though the male Chessie was over 100 pounds, and the female was almost 75, the 60 pound older dog remained the boss until he died suddenly at almost 15. The male Chessie changed from a love everyone. as long as the boss was ok with it, to a very protective dog. I have keys to the house, and when the old dog had just died, I walked in, and the male went nuts, until he saw me, then he went into wiggle mode. If I was a stranger, I would have gotten the hell out as fast as I could. Those two, and the other Chessies I've known over the years seemed to all be more "serious" than the Labs, and aren't as laid back as even the field type Labs are. My Pit mix had a Chessie buddy for years, and he was a great dog who died at 7 due to some rare cancer, but the others all lived to be quite old. My friend's male was almost 14 when he died, and the female was nearly 16.
