Cheer Camp

So tomorrow morning I am leaving my babies until Friday. I will be four hours away from home.. My first year ever going to cheer camp as a Freshman I actually cried the first night because Cocoa wasn't with me. I've gotten better about not having Cocoa with me though.. but my poor baby. She ripped out a toenail Thursday...and she's been licking it like crazy. Now I am going to leave her for four days, and then.. when I get back, I'm leaving again to go to the zoo with friends, then staying the night at the friend's. I COULD take cocoa to stay the night with me..(friend from dog training classes, so she doesn't mind).. But my sibling's dogs have fleas. I take really good care of my dogs, so if they ever do get a flea on them, they get a bath immedietly... but I'm paranoid that even if I bathe and spray Cocoa she might give fleas to my friend's dogs. So I don't think it would be good..I might have to leave my baby home. :(

I'm so stressed..and I haven't even gotten to cheer camp yet. I HATE cheer camp. Have you ever been surrounded by over 100 other cheerleaders? I am not your typical cheerleader. I do not have money, I do not have nice clothes, I am not that pretty, I don't fry my hair by straightening it every day, I am not stupid, I am not a *****, and I am far from being anythign like the cheerleaders you meet at cheer camp. Those girls just drive me up the walls.. with their cheering and fake smiles. Oh my GOSH! You just want to strangle them. They can't POSSIBLY actually be happy at cheer camp. STop with the fake smiles!

--a very stressed Tessa :(

ETA: And right now I am sitting here pouting at home because I could not go to agility class. I still have tons of packing to do.. and I wasn't done.. so now I am stuck home finishing upmy laundry so that I can finish packing.

Lol Please pray that Tessa doesn't kill anyone when she is away at cheer camp!

Aww, Tessa.

I hope that somehow you have fun at cheer camp and I'm sure your babies will miss you, but you WILL be coming home, so try not to worry about it.

Good luck finishing the laundry and packing!

Cheer camp? Good time? I highly doubt that. Learning new, hard cheers every day. New dances everday. New chants. Being away from my babies. Having to be around all those other cheerleaders. Playing the stupid 'recreation' games.. doing those stupid cheers when you are allowed to go get a drink..

Not to mention not having my computer. I've been buring music on CDs for the past few days. So hopefully my christian rock music will help to keep me sane.. I'm bringing a cooler packed with cookies, pop,.. and hopefully I'll get some more stuff in the morning. So I could always eat my feelings away when I start missing my babies! :D And I'm even pondering taking my two bibles with me(one being easy to read, other being new kings james version).

I think the ONLY good thing about cheer camp is the FOOD. You get three meals a day, and hopefully the place we are going will have good food. (Tessa loves her food. At home she only gets one meal a day: supper, so this should be a nice change! :D)

Maybe you'll be so busy and tired that time will fly by.

Proverbs 14:23

In all labor there is profit,
But idle chatter leads only to poverty.

I knew taking this attitude camp wouldn't make it any better. So, I sat here and flipped through proverbs to find the perfect one. I am writing this proverb down. It will be on my bookmark in my book, written on a peice of paper hidden in my CD case I am bringing, and I am going to bring another peice of paper with this proverb written on it with me in my "cheer bag"(deoderant, extra socks, sunblock, etc) to serve as a constant reminder. If I do not keep a cheerful attitude, I cannot expect anyone else around me to. And if they can't keep a cheerful attitude because of me, I certainly won't be any less stressed.

The hard part is actually remembering this when you'd rather scream and yell at the person next to you. Lol. Not that I would ever do that.. I might want to.. but I'm not mean enough to do that.

Take a bound notebook with you, Tessa . . . Jot down the thousand and one ideas that pop into your head, the thoughts you don't want to lose, and all the things you don't want to forget so you can tell us all about them :D

You'll have a ball ! Both my girls went to cheer camps and left their fuzzies . Believe me , these aren't beauty pageants ! It's gut, spirits good will and leadership .... doesn't hurt if you can support two standing on your shoulders and because of their nerves ,they throw up on you.!!!

all

Do you really want to hear all about it? ;) I'm sure there will be much to write when I get back. Hopefully everything I have to talk about won't be me just complaining.

Tessa needs to remember:

Even when you think what you are doing is pointless, there is something to be gained from that experience. No matter how pointless that experience may seem. Keep your head high, your attitude cheerful, and take from every experience what you can.

Grammy, lucky for me, this is a non stunting cheer camp. My cheerleading squad is too small and not allowed to stunt. Actually, in the past three years we have just finally started getting tumblers. I could tumble, but I had to choose between tumbling or dog training. It did work for awhile.. doing tumbling, cheering, and dog training..but eventually it just stopped working.. so I had to pick dog training. Too bad too, .. I was pretty good.. and I still want to be able to. But my dogs are more important.

You dont seem to enjoy it. If so, why do it. Perhaps there is another hobby you would enjoy more?

Cheerleading I can handle. Cheer camp is He**.

During cheerleading, you only do it for 2 1/2 hours at a time, tops. Cheer camp, you get up and you cheer from 8 AM to 8 PM. Cheerleading I am only with my fellow cheerleaders. I happen to be part of a very small squad(12 girls). Cheer camp you are surrounded by hundreds of other cheerleaders you don't know. I am shy. I am horrible with new situations and new people. Cheerleading I can come home at night and still play and be with my babies. Cheer camp I am away from them for four days straight. In Cheerleading, I am practically the best on my squad. I am a fast learner, and I never feel behind. At cheer camp, they give you a very limited time to learn the material. I feel like I am constantly behind. I am constantly screwing it up.

Cheer camp is NOT a pleasant experience. BUT, it is ONLY four days out of the entire year. The fun times, experiences, and accomplishments I make during cheerleading for the rest of the year make it pretty much worth it.

I'm already in another "hobby". Haha.. more like an obsession. I take dog training classes every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I show my dogs in agility, obedience, jr showmanship, and conformation on the weekends. I guess I run as a hobby as well. And I read ALOT. But, dog training, reading, and running alone don't keep me busy enough. I like to be busy. A busy tessa is a happy tessa. A bored tessa is a miserable tessa.
