Anyone know a good cure for chapped lips? I've tried most of the commerical stuff, but my lips still hurt and feel like sandpaper. Any suggestions?

Try some sugar and baby oil and rub it gently over your lips. Kinda like a lip-cial :) And afterwards put on a thick layer of some chap stick (I like the one in a little round container from Bath and Body Works) and it'll make your lips smooth as butter :)

hmmm have you tried mary kay satin lips... i have a bunch of them unopened if you want some and I live in your area... northern virginia. I think Satin lips is amazing. I've always had mega issues with chapped lips and chapped hands since I was a little kid and satin lips has done the trick in the lip department.

drink more water!!!!

i used to get REALLY bad chapped lips when the seasons changed. I notice on days when I drink more water, they are a TON better. There is still some chapping in the corners, but overall it is a bajillion times better....and SUCH an easy solution.

be careful with most chapsticks... most of them only temporarily make your lips feel nice, but in the long run make your lips dehydrated... there's a particular ingredient in most chapsticks to look out for. Can't remember what it is. Does anyone else know what the ingredient is?

I don't know what the ingredient is, but it must be in ChapStick Moisturizer. I started using ChapStick back in high school for chapped lips and now if I leave the house without my ChapStick, I panic. If I don't put it on often, my lips will start to hurt.

For lips and any other dry skin issues....

Udderly Smooth. It is straight up cow udder cream. Yes, cow udder cream. But it REALLY works. No fancy smells or any of that...

I swear... Try ot once and you will never use any other skin product again. Well, unless you are a girly girl and a frutiy smell matters. LOL

Wax. The ingredient is wax. I had a professional model tell me once that anything with wax in it will dry your lips out worse.
She said the best thing for your lips is straight Vitamin E.
I buy tubes of vitamin E made by cocoa cure.

And she's right. It works like a CHARM. As long as I use it at least once a day or every other day, my lips don't chap up.
AND it works great on lips that are already chapped.

The marykay stuff works great too, but the vitamin E is cheaper.:D

Ok, I'm being dead serious here. But the best stuff I have found for lips, tops even Carmex, is a product I carry called Nipple Nibblers. I use it strictly for chapstick and I only have to put it on once a day and it's taken care of my chapped lips. I also have a habit of chewing on my lips and when you combine that with Kansas winters, it's not pretty. This stuff has taken care of it!

The name of that stuff made me chuckle

Yeah, the name is amusing...I'm putting together normal chapstick tubes with this stuff and the label will only read "NN Lip Balm" and then the flavor. So you could carry it around and not have to worry about what people think! ;)

while all the mentioned products may work wonders, please also increase your water intake. Chapped lips are a sign of dehydration, and it is very common for ppl to be dehydrated once it gets cold out, since they dont feel the need to drink as much water.

Your body only has so many ways of telling you what it needs...chapped lips are one of them, so dont just cover up your symptom, and forget to actually address the cause.

OMG I can't belive sombody has the same problem as me, I thought I was addicted tot he stuff because I use it so often, I stated using it in grade 8 and now I have to use it all the time years later, and if i can't find it i panic big time LOL.
Right now im using Blistex Medix, it worked great for about 2 weeks but now lips are peeling again.
I will try to drink more water like was mentioned, that might help the both of us:D

Yes something is dehydrating you also. Drink alot of liquids good ones, lol.
Sometimes I just use Vasoline, it is heavy and cover well, I breath at night through my mouth, stuff up when heat is on. If I run outta chapsticks that is what I found is good.

Puck is right, that stuff works really well.

I also recommend Absolutely Organics lip balms.. http://www.absolutelyorganic-toxicfree.com/catalog/item/1234053/2590162.htm

That's one of them. I won't buy from them again due to the expense--sorry, but 4.00 for anything small enough to lose is just throwing away money in my case--but their stuff is AMAZING. It tastes and smells delicious, no nasty ingredients, doesn't leave a thin layer of scum at the corners of your mouth (most commercial products, especially "Chap Stik" brand stuff does that to me), it's completely clear but somehow manages to make your lips look lovely. It FEELS good.. not greasy or sticky.. just perfect.. and is completely absorbed by your skin and makes it smooth and nice-feeling.

If AO sold in a large container (something with more of the lip balm.. and something I wouldn't lose so easily) I would buy it in a heartbeat, because it works better than the best. Burts Bees and Carmex used to be my favorites until I had these, and now I can't even stand to apply them. They just feel gross, you know?

How do you feel up old chapstick containers with this stuff.

I'm considering trying it.

Especially because the name is...unusual.
I searched it online and you can only find it on...naughty sites.:lol-sign:
