Ok Im phone dumb. I dont know much at all. So I have a Black berry curve 8530 (had to ask the boyfriend what type of phone I have lol. Thats how phone dumb I am) its about 2 years old. And I feel like its time for a upgrade.

I want a good web browsing phone, that I can access things online I need, such as banking apps, bus scheduele apps, chaz ( ;) )ect. Just usefull every day junk, that I cant do with this old junky BB. My BB is just to slow to handle that stuff, it takes to long to load, and drives me bonkers lol.

So I was intrested in the dun dun dun IPhone4. I went in to talk to some one about it at the phone store (telus, if that makes any difference). as I do know quite a bit about it. I have a bunch of friends with them. they look like perfect phones for what I want. Fit in to the billing price I want (I pay almost 80 bucks a month already for my BB which is a great plan, but overkill for my phone)

But the guy started showing me the HTC desire HD. I dont know much about androids (or phones lol) The mall was closing when I was in the store. So I didnt get to ask to many questions.

Can any one give me the benfits or negatives for both? Or give me a idea of another phone.

Thanks!

I LOVE my android phone.

But if you are liking the iPhone go for it. A lot of my friends have it and they all really like their phones.

i LOVE my iphone. Now, I don't have the 4. I have the 3GS which is a few years old, but it's still fast enough and works perfectly. I'm on the internet on it daily, whether I'm on FB, or Chaz, or something else. I'm just an Apple person overall so I definitely like the iPhone. :p

I pretty much hate my iphone. Its buggy and glitchy and freezes and they insist its not a bad phone. Yes many people rave about them but I and a few others(1 or 2 lol!) are not one of them. I refuse to buy another phone outside of my contract so here I suffer I miss my bb storm ll. Had it from the day it came out till thanksgiving. Never an issue with it. I love my ipod touch. hate this phone with a passion. Apple said maybe my router?(at home it runs off it but it would say no signal and not work at home!) is to old for it and some other ridiculousness. for the most part its doable but when my bb was so good and this is supposed to be the best thing ever it sucks!

The iphpne is great for web browsing, will give it that. But doesn't help when it freezes on itunes or won't move the screen etc.

My bf,brother and cousin all have the commando I think its called? Great for dog walking because you can cover it in mud and water and its fine after a pressure washing. We take it four wheeling and then use the internet camping. Its great. My phones to breakable for that! Screen is huge and pics turn out nice.

I love my iPhone 4S. Granted, I've only had it a few months but I've had absolutely zero issues with it (it's never even froze on me) and my friends who have had theirs for years still love them. Most of them had Blackberries and were totally fed up and went to the iphone and never looked back.

I used to have a total dinosaur of an LG Neon lol, it was like 4 years old and on its last legs. I was hesitant to go to the iPhone at first because I just thought it was too much, but I have to say I use the internet, GPS/maps and different apps on it all the time. More than I thought I ever would. It's come in handy so many times! I was also hesitant about it as I usually hate a touch screen but I don't mind it at all and I've found it very easy to use and navigate.

eta: Another huge benefit is the battery life - it lasts for ages and charges so quickly! You can also use your ipod charger with it, which I recently discovered after leaving my charger at work LOL

Pretty much whichever you end up liking will work for you. A lot of apps are available on both and both are internet capable phones.

My brother has an iPhone and really likes his but he's on like is 6th one. He's kind of clumsy and has dropped and broken a few.

I'm not a huge Apple fan so I never really felt the draw and the gorilla glass on my Galaxy has saved my life a hundred times. It's also nice to use a phone without a screen protector and not worry about scratching it up.

I LOVE my iPhone. I have the 3Gs, and I'm getting the 4s next month when I can upgrade.

I'm never, ever switching from Apple phones.

I dislike iPhones, I've had too many people's iPhones drop the call while I'm talking to them. It's really annoying after a while :p. i also dislike the minimal customization you can do, and how some things *have* to stay on the screen.

This. basically.

I'm in love with my Iphone. It syncs up with my other apple products, I've never had a problem with it, the apple store is always there to fix any problem, there is an app for everything in the world..

The iphone vs. android debate is a long and pointless one lol I have friends with the iphone and friends with the android, and at this point we all agree it's about personal preference.

I <3(xInfinity) my iPhone!

For those who have problems (glitches, etc.) have you talked to Apple or took your phone to the Apple store? Just curious! My sister has had THREE, count 'em, THREE iPhones replaced in 5 months.... for free too and her phones were not under Apple Care! None of it was Apple's fault either, solely on my sister (aka she dropped it a few too many times lol).

So I have a feeling that if it is "their" fault (software glitches, things like that), they'd try their best to make the customer happy ;) It is so totally worth it to go talk to them at the store... this coming from someone who live 2+ hours from a store.

That being said.. my mom does have a way of getting things for free or at an extreme discount.

I agree with Fran though... iPhone vs Android is all about personal preference. So whatever feels the most comfortable in your hand, is most easy for you to "play" with, etc.

I think that would have more to do with their reception or carrier? Maybe not, lol.

For instance, AT&T in my town is terrible. You are bound to lose someone almost every time you talk to them if they have AT&T.

Verizon/Alltel, however, has great reception here. You can go pretty much anywhere and still have a full signal. There are a few spots here and there where you lose it (i.e. when your driving through the state forest, lol), but not very often.

Android and Iphone are too eye-candy,they are toys first and phones second. Where with Blackberry it is the other way, if you want quality and do business buy a Blackberry.

LOVEloveLOVE my iPhone. As far as user friendliess, I know most people who are dumb with phones can use them very well. My 66 year old grandmother uses one and posts on Facebook every day (LOL), sends pictures, texts, and takes pics and videos. My mom is like as dumb as dumb can be when it comes to technology and she also loves her iPhone. My dad and stepmom all switched from the Droid to the iPhone because the Droid annoyed them sooo bad. Oh and my other grandma, who is 65ish, never used a computer in her life now has an iPad and is on the thing ALL the time, LOL. I just love Apple products (I SWEAR I don't work for them ;)) but I know some hate them. But I will never go back to anything but Apple after the experience of three different iPhones, a Macbook Pro, my iPod, dads iPad, etc, etc. I've always had fantastic customer service, the Apple store is super fast around here, the products are always easy to use and I don't experience many technical problems with them. Almost everyone I know that had a Blackberry or a Droid has switched to iPhone but that's just in my group of people.

Did take mine to apple and it did it off their network thin to and they said it is new:eek: It rarely does it now but still does occasionally.

Other thing I noticed is I am on verizon and where my bb was crystal clear this is not as great of a ohone as far as sound quality. At first I was saying "what" over and over. Just used to it now. Its a phone, good god make it sound nice.
I agree everyone but verizons drops calls. My friends with at&t drop them left and right but thats with every phone through them lol,!

I usually keep my phones three or four years. There will have to be some serious changes in a new phone lol! It will be fine days and then issue after issue.
