I dont understand how anyone could want to be a celebrity. It seems like an awful life. I can honestly say I'd take my tight budget anyday over the life of a celebrity. Not to say I would mind being "moderatly" rich (an oxymoron probably) but I just couldnt live w/ eveyone watching my every move and analizing everything I wear and every place I go. Is th money really worth giving up any hope of having a "normal" life? Are they that greedy?

Like I said I wouldnt mind being well-off but I wouldnt want to be disgustingly rich. How can you apperciate anything if you can buy everything? It seems like having that much money you would loose all of the small pleasures in life. When most of us get a new car it's like an adrenaline rush. You just want to drive around all night and go out to the store just to use the new car. I heard Jerry Sienfeld has 72 porches. How can you get excited about one new car if you have 72 porches? It would just ruin everything.

I get excited about new shampoo and I'd like to keep it that way. If I could afford to buy all the shampoo in the world I think I would lose that small pleasure. I would hate that. Do you think that's why almost every celebrity turns to drugs? Do you think it's b/c they are seeking pleasure that they lose from having all that money? Or do you think it's just the party lifestyle that comes w/ hollywood and the peer pressure? Is there a celebrity that DOESNT do drugs?

Yep, a celeb's life is NOTHING I would ever want to endure even for a day.

I don't want to be rich, moderately rich, or even well to do. I am quite happy having enough to pay my bills without worry and get a few extras from time to time. I may crack a joke about it.........but the truth is I have all I want or need and I have no complaints :)

i dont think being rich means you are going to not appreciate the small things in life...at all.

I would hate to be a celebrity, but I would love to be rich. The thing is, if I was rich, I wouldnt be buying 72 porches...thats a pretty stupid way to spend money...i know I would be donating A LOT of it, but also using a lot to travel and do other things that like that.

I would hate to be a celebrity because your life is watched & analyzed 24/7, and to me, THAT is what makes them all go crazy in the head. I'd prob start doing drugs if I knew everytime i picked a wedgie in public that it would end up all over magazines, lol (ok, maybe not...but you get the point)

Yeah I'm happy too but I am not going to say I would never want to be "well-off" b/c I would just be lying, lol. I want to make as much as my parents. lol. Thats my definition of "well-off". Six figures and a 5 bedroom 3 bath house.

I sure could use just a tiny bit of Brittany's $17,000 week income !!! I bought a new lipstick yesterday !! First in over a year ! I'd love to have a new 4Runner over any Hummer or sports car !! I'd love to slip someone a $100 when they put some groceries back because they are short a few dollars . That's the only reson I'd love to be filthy rich !!! To end worries ...mine and others.

I know. Thats what I said. I would donate a lot and just give some to people who really needed it. I have a friend (a guy) who's getting married and his future wife's parents are RICH! her shoes for the wedding cost $800 and her dress is $20,000. I was saying how ridiculous that is and someone I was with said "well if they can afford that its not ridiculous" I thought about it fro a second and I still think Its ridiculous. If I was rich hell yes I would spend a lot of money and I'd buy expensive things but I would not spend that much on a dress b/c yes there are different qualities of fabric and stitching when it comes to dresses but at some point it levels off and there's a dress for about $5,000 out there that is just as good as that one. Same fro the shoes. I would up the price for quality not for name brand. It just seems that they are spending that much on a dress just b/c they can. Not b/c there's any dress on earth worth that much money. Did she really see that dress and think "I HAVE to have that one. There is no dress in the world that is similar for $5,000". It just seems like they did it on purpose. My wedding shoes were $15 at burlington and I LOVED them. You have to try to spend $800 on shoes!

^^^^ agree !!! My Mom put a limit of $500 to $800 ( 50s folks ) for my wedding dress .....the one I liked was $75. I've never bought because of label ( except for fit and workmanship at nearly new shops .

Mine was only $220. Thats basically the best you can do nowdays. Plus I had to stay w/ a certain cut to hold the boobs up! lol. I cant do the slinky dresses w/ funky straps and such. I need to have sturcture and support in a dress and a specific cut in a white dress id hard to find. I refused to buy a "wedding" dress b/c if you call it that the price goes up a few hundred dollars. Seriously, I looked a bunch of white bridesmaids dresses then I saw some "wedding" dresses that were the SAME dress. $300 difference.

It would probably drive me up the wall to have people asking for my autograph all the time and reporters following me around asking questions/videotaping/taking pictures.

BUT if I was rich, you can believe me that I'd have a property they couldn't get into... so unless they took pictures of me through the windows in my house there'd be no harassment at home, at least. I also don't think I'd throw away money on gazillions of things I'd never use, but I guess you never know until you have more money than you know what you can do with. A LOT would go in the bank as savings, and I'd donate loads to rescues.

It would be nice to be able to design and decorate a house without worrying about too much of a budget, though. I would love that. And a nice big fenced in yard.. wrought iron..

And yes, I think you could still get yourself excited about things.. but not if you live the way plenty of celebs live. If you made sure most of the ungodly amount of money you made was GOING somewhere.. and you didn't really have your hands on a lot of it immediately.. and gave yourself limits.. yep I think you could still get plenty of pleasure and excitement from the things you buy! Not to mention special things, like if you commissioned a painting/article of clothing/collar/furniture/toy/jewlery/etc.. I find it hard to believe, no matter how many 'special' things someone has, that you wouldn't get joy out of them.

I guess to me it seems like I'd lose that sense of satisfaction I get knowing how hard I worked to earn the things I get. Knowing I had to work to get it makes it more worth it, ya know?

JAYSUS! that is INSANE! I would never spend that much on a dress either...omg, that is a FREAKING CAR!! I am a HUGE bargain shopper...I got a $1200 Armani dress for $100 :D (and spending that 100 bux was a lot, even though it is a little black dress that I can wear for YEARS).

I could never justify spending that much for something i will wear ONCE. I think if I was really rich I'd be more likely to buy like $200 jeans cause I wear jeans so freaking much, but I mean...even that is hard to do, cause my $15 ones that I find on sale at Marshalls are AWESOME.

I don't buy cheap crap...like, i wont ever buy stuff from target/kmart/etc, cause to me, its EXPENSIVE for what you are paying for. I go to TJ Maxx/Marshalls and buy HIGH quality stuff for CHEAP. I also *ONLY* shop sales at stores like Limited, banana, ann taylor...if you wait around...omg, they have AMAZING sales. My friends all think im nuts cause I always am bragging about how I got some great $90 top for $10 or something, haha

I will be honest, i would probably shoot myself if i had to spend one WEEK as a celeberty. Sure, you got money, sure, you got fans, but you also have every freaking magazine known to man on your rear all the time. I dont want people watching my every move all the time. Granted, i could care less what people think, but even then, its enough to make one go nuts.
I would rather be the person that no one knows or cares about than a glammed up celeberty. Christ, no wonder they drink/do drugs. I dont blame them. (doesnt excuse them from doing it, its still a bad thing, but honestly...)

I truly pity them and hope that they do some good with their money . I read where Brittany spent over $3000 at a hotel to just chill out for 2 hours ..............too sad !

Yeah... hubby keeps telling me I gotta try out for Idol before I am over the age limit lol... and while it would be nice to get paid to do what I love to do for fun (sing)...

A) I don't think it would be fun anymore when it is my JOB.

And

B) you couldn't PAY me enough to live that lifestyle... my dream life would be to live in the middle of nowhere with lots of land and no traffic. I choose when I wanna see people lol. I am a people person but on my terms... not theirs. I would snap if the press were in my face 24/7.

While I would like to win the lottery and not have either of us HAVE to work... and be able to do whatever we want when we want... I don't want the publicity AT ALL.... no thank you. I would rather live pay check to pay check the rest of my life instead of having money and being a public spectacle.

yeah that is crazy...

but I almost find it even more sad that money turns them into prima donnas....

Like JLo HAS to have ROSE petals in the toilet when she goes to a hotel... WHY? It's ridiculous.

I don't want to turn into a person like that... I want to be me. I want to be able to jump in a creek and catch frogs if I want to, or rent a hotel room just for a romantic night with hubby.... added bonus of the room would be a jacuzzi tub in the room... not roses in the can. I don't ever want to treat people like that... to make them do stupid things just to show that I am better than them. I don't want the "simple" things in life to become rose petals in the toilet at a hotel room that probably costs hubby's salary.

Money has a tendancy to turn people into disgusting human beings... and I don't EVER want to become that.
