you should probably move this to the cat part of this forum. I would say to ask your vet though. A 12 year old cat should be eating something though, I wouldn't know because I've never had a cat that was 12. You might try mixing with canned if your kitty is having difficulties eating.

My cat lived to 17, she was really healthy at 12 so she ate twice a day, not canned but the regular hard food, with maybe a snack in between once a day. She was given treats once in the morning and once at night. She weighed about 10 lbs, a little heavy but she was active and a fairly good sized cat.

My 9 year old an 2 year old cat eat 2 cups each a day at least sometimes a little more. They usually eat 2 cups each in the morning and same in the evening.
My step grandmother has a 19 year old cat that eats wet food. They may be a option. You may allready feed her wet instead of dry.

Is there a problem with your cat? Not eating enough? Too fat? Bad teeth? Why the question? All cats are different. It depends on the brand of food and metabolism... I had a cat that died a month short of it's 19th birthday. I was still a kid but i remember him eating really well until about the last few days. Then my mom tried to feed him liver and stuff but he didn't make it. :(

WOW Mandy. That seems like a lot of food! How big are your cats? My cat eats 1/4 of dry food twice a day. And she's FAT!
